Very nice.

I loved this tour despite the criticisms.

This is from the 2nd night at Shea Stadium 10-13-82 and is missing "5:15" unless the track listing is wrong.

I have the 1st night from Shea Stadium 10-12-82 where they did a different set including the rarely played "Athena" and Entwistle threw his bass at the end of "Won't Get Fooled Again", but only 1 hour of the show (including "Athena" has surfaced. Interesting the 2nd night is here in full which I never knew was filmed!

I will absolutely purchase this and it is a great setlist.

This was my first Who tour. Absolutely in for this. Funny - when I saw them, we got "Athena", but not "Tattoo" or "I Saw Her Standing There". Like Pete said, despite the complaints, I liked this tour and it will also be special for me. I loved the different endings to "Long Live Rock" and "Won't Get Fooled Again".

The first band I remember that did a "farewell" tour.

Man, I'm in on this.

I bought the miserable Live from Toronto DVD a few years back because I had it on VHS and loved it. The DVD was a flat transfer from VHS. Absolutely horrible at that. The CD wasn't much better.

Well, those were not authorized by the band and this is, so there will be a big difference, though mine of the 10-12-82 show is from an in-house camera feed so it is pro-shot it just won't be pristine.

The same year the Doobie Brothers did theirs.

Even the VHS was unauthorized?

It looked good back in 1990 on my 13" 4:3 television. :lmao:

I was there for both shows in 1982. I recall that on at least one of those nights, maybe the first, it was pouring rain and The Who didn't come on until about 9:30 or 10:00 P.M.

No, that was called The Who Rocks America or something and that was authorized.

I still have that.

The other Live in Toronto was from one of those dodgy labels "Immortal" and was as stated above, a flat transfer from a VHS source a few gens down.

I was there so this is a no brainer for me. Some of this footage is on the Maximum R&B DVD, and it's great quality. I remember recording the Toronto show off the radio back in December 1982. My Grandmother was visiting from Florida and I had to sleep elsewhere in my house. I had to keep sneaking into my bedroom to flip the cassettes. I loved this tour. Maybe there will be an audio release as well... :yay:

I recorded the Toronto show on cassette when they did the simulcast and I played that tape so much that it finally wore thin. The show in Dallas that year was my first big stadium concert. If the quality is there, I'll definitely be getting this.

A little more info:

Bonus tracks from the first night at Shea Stadium:

(1) My Generation (2) A Man Is A Man (3) 5.15

Disappointing that "Athena" is absent but at least I have it on my copy I got in a trade of the 10-12-82 show years ago.

They didn't play it much even though it was a fairly big hit (and I love the song).

The Who couldn't quite make that song sound right so I can see why, Still, it should be in the bonus tracks.

This is going to be a great release. I agree with other fans for more of the 70's concerts for release.

Not quite.

He played keyboards under the name Tim Gorman.

I was at the first Shea Stadium show, on October 12, so I won't get to search for my 16-year-old self in the crowd, but I still have to get this so I can relive the experience of seeing The Who for the first time.

Bump: Added pre-order links to the first post. (The BD is currently listed in error as "HD DVD", but the page will be corrected in due course -- that link is definitely for the Blu-ray.)
