Please see viewtopic.php?f=18&t=92058&p=2628568#p2628568These seems to be an interest in my idea of fav performers on each instrument. Do we want to leave it wide open, or conduct some sort of poll for nominees?

I was thinking 2 per category (but it's Ice, what's rules anyway?).

I rather like the idea of focusing on your personal favorite rather than who you think is the best — the one you can personally listen to over and over and try to turn your friends on to. It's easy enough to go to Hendrix and Duane Allman, but if I can now try to sort through my love for Rory Gallagher and Bugs Henderson, then I think it gets more interesting.

Well, if we're talking about personal favourites - then I'd say David Gilmour on six string (Jimi comes second), and John Entwistle on bass (with Jaco Pastorius in second place). Those are people whose playing I never get sick of hearing.
Favourite drummer would be Carl Palmer (Bill Bruford would be a close second).
Fave keyboard player would be Rick Wakeman (John Lord as runner-up)
Favourite lead singer/frontman would have to be Freddie Mercury.
I'd also nominate Venetta Fields as my all-time favourite back up singer.
Looking at that list, it's pretty typical I suppose. I like people who are emotive and whose playing/singing contains emotion and a unique sound that only they can produce.
