This looks really good!

Here's what it says in the great Yes fan site, Where Are They Now (http://www.bondegezou.co.uk/wnyesm.htm):

Progeny: Seven Shows from Seventy-Two (Atlantic Catalog Group) is a 14-disc box set containing 7 complete shows from 1972, due 12 May 2015 in the US and possibly earlier in Japan. The full contents have not yet been announced, but one of the included concerts is the 31 Oct Maple Leaf Gardens, Toronto performance on the Close to the Edge tour, with Anderson, Squire, Howe, White and Wakeman; set: "Intro: Firebird Suite", "Siberian Khatru", "I've Seen All Good People", "Mood for a Day", "Clap", "And You and I", "Heart of the Sunrise", "Close to the Edge", Wakeman solo, "Roundabout", "Yours is No Disgrace". According to Doug Curran on Facebook, all 7 shows are from the end of the year, i.e. the Close to the Edge tour, with 1 Nov Ottawa (same set list) being another included. As for the other dates, speculation turns to 4 Nov Columbus, OH, 11 Nov Durham, NC and 14 Nov Atlanta, GA that are also believed to have been recorded (two of those may possibly be the sources of parts of Yessongs). The box also features extensive new art by Roger Dean. A 90 minute (presumably 2CD) highlights release, Highlights from Seventy-Two, also appears to be planned.

It appears that further archival live releases (from other tours) may be planned.

I'm a Yes fanatic (seen 'em live 22 times), but 7 shows from the same year?

A bit too much of the same for me and probably a small fortune.

Very interesting though.

Bring on Oceans, Relayer, Going for the One and Drama tours.

If it includes shows from the Fragile tour (Bruford's last), I'm in.

22 times Pete? Wow, you beat me easy, I'm at 16.

I believe so many of the same show will be to redundant but I will go for the Highlights 2 CD set.

I was going to write pretty much the same thing until I saw your comments, Pete. This would be fun to hear, much like the multiple King Crimson shows from the same tour in their recent mega box sets, but I would much rather have professionally recorded shows from those later tours.

I have about 100 Yes CDs/DVDs etc includes studio, concerts and bootlegs
To be honest I have enough versions of those Yes classics as money is being spent on my kids, paying off house, holidays etc
However if I was in the position to have lots of spare cash I'd snap this up.

In the last year, I've listened to two box sets of King Crimson performing essentially the same show about 35 times. I'm sure I'll be getting this, even if it is a bit repetitive. :)

I resemble the King Crimson part of your comment!

If the shows are professionally recorded, then there's a chance I may get this. I've been burned a few times when bands put out live box sets of crappy sounding bootlegs (ELP, The Doors & Asia, etc.) so now I'm more skeptical, but we'll see.

I'm in for the 2-CD of highlights at a minimum. Not sure I can justify getting the full 14 disc package.

does yes have more live CD's than studio CD's?
inquiring minds want to know.

Hopefully the 2 CD set had one complete show from each but time-wise I don't see that as possible.

So the only way to get any complete shows is the box.

Have to wait and see about all this.

My favorite era of Yes is actually 1974-80 so this doesn't interest me as much as most fans, but I am still a fan of the 1971-73 era just not as much.

Thanks! Any idea if they are professionally mixed multi-tracks, or..............?

Geff, it's gets scary more and more as we learn more about this release.

I'm getting close to offering an antidote from my man Mark Cuban who may say from "Shark Tank" "If these aren't the true tapes, I am sorry to say, I'm Out".

from Notes from The Edge:

WRT the "Progeny" post below: it is just a coincidence. My contact at Rhino advised that "The Lost Yes Tapes" are just that--lost. Whatever is in this box set it is NOT from taken directly from those tapes, which would technically be the property of Atlantic Records--and they would like to know where those tapes are. A press release is forthcoming, which will divulge what "Progeny" is--but now we know what it is not. Sadly.

I don't remember WGV having Yes when they were doing lossless, at least not for sale. They may have them for streaming, with a couple exceptions i ignored the low bitrate streams.

I'm curious about this statement...
"Even though the setlist didn’t vary much from night to night, the individual performances are strikingly different."

Will probably wait for what others who purchase the big set have to say about how strikingly different they are before deciding on which version to get.
