Two questions:

(1) How did we miss this one?

(2) Has anyone done a comparison between the Blu-ray disc and the DVD-A from ten years ago?

That is all.

This was one of the earlier, "tentative" BDA releases from when Universal UK started the series. I'm not sure that it was ever actually released domestically -- the USA listing is all third party sellers -- so I've added UK and Canadian links to try to make sure that it can still be gotten from somewhere when this thread is read in the future.

I have this one and its sitting right across from me right now. This is the Brian May approved mix as their are two versions of the 5.1 mix,

The original 2001 Elliot Scheiner and the 2002 Brian May mix.

This one is the Brian May mix which was also on the DVDA.

The Scheiner mix is rare as Brian May didn't like it and it was pulled.

I have this one, it's alittle better but didn't blow me away. Maybe I was expecting to much.

Interesting.

I didn't realize Brian May had remixed it. That means I have the original Eliot Scheiner mix on DVD-A.

I own the Scheiner DVDA, the Brian May remix DVDA and now the Brian May remix BluRay. Insane.

I have the 2005 CD/DVD 5.1 96/24 DTS which says in the liner notes that the 5.1 mix was produced by Roy Thomas Baker & Brian May and Mixed by Eliot Scheiner except "God Save The Queen" which was mixed by Brian May. The music is accompanied by videos and visuals synced to the album. I also own the BD in this thread and the notes only say that it was produced by Brian May and Roger Taylor and Audio supervised by Justin Shirley-Smith and Kris Fredriksson. It does not say anything about a remix. In fact, the copyright on the back of the BD states that the 2.0 master is for 2011 and the 5.1 is 2005, the same as the newest stereo remaster and the 5.1 DVD respectively. The BD has no video but as far as I could tell, it is the same 5.1 mix as the 2005 DVD version. The only other difference is the fidelity of the BD due to the higher resolution. I don't think that there is any other 5.1 mix. Below is an article where Scheiner tells the story about the remix sessions. May got involved and there was some remixing involved, but the only 5.1 released was the Scheiner one.

I own it on DVD. It's a Visual music clip DVD with the entire album mixed in 5.1 with a 2nd DVD that contains an interview with May and other bonus material. Who mixed this one?
