Just received an E-Mail tonight from Jimmy Page's website. Getting the Death Wish II soundtrack is already having me say yes.

The quadruple box set is available to pre-order now and new discs Lucifer Rising: The Second Coming and Death Wish II: Expansion include rare, never-before-heard tracks.

Speaking about the release, Jimmy explains; “The archive material and work included here serve as an illustration of the ongoing process at the time of these two projects.”

Recorded at Jimmy's home studio in Plumpton and The Sol studio in Cookham in the late seventies and early eighties, Sound Tracks features an all-new booklet containing a written track-by-track insight by Jimmy Page for the archive material amidst a stunning collection of original artwork across 36 pages. The quadruple gatefold CD case and booklet is housed inside a soft-touch matt black slipcase.

Release date:
28 February 2015

why not?

it's so much easier than having to actually play guitar and write (steal) new music again.

I just tried ordering the CD set and there's only one shipping option to the US: "Signed Delivery International Level 1" for a total of £21.00. That makes a £30.00 purchase go up to £51.00. I love Page and want to get this because I've had the "Death Wish II" soundtrack since the day it was released and would love to hear more (and finally get "Lucifer Rising") but I can't justify spending that kind of money. Hopefully it gets a general release soon.

Ouch! I was considering getting this set, but I guess that the decision's been made for me. Is Jimmy aware that he has fans in the U.S. who enjoy his music?

I sent an inquiry to the website. Hopefully there's another shipping option that's not showing up for some reason. I can understand using that for a deluxe signed vinyl box set, but for a £30.00 CD set that's easy to pack & ship, they should be able to send it via Royal Mail or some other standard shipping method.

Threads merged. I'm not sure that there will actually be Amazon links at all. Nothing has been said about a general release, but let's keep watch.

Sorry I missed Rick's original thread. I did a search for it first but came up empty. Thanks for merging them, Linda.

I really hope they can offer shipping to the US at reasonable rates. Can anyone justify spending $70 or more on this?

Not I. I'd have been happy to pay for whatever he's charging, but £21.00, 70% of the cost of the item is not something that I'm willing to pay.

Yep, that's exactly how I felt. £30 seemed reasonable, and with standard shipping the whole thing might have come out to $50. If I hear back from his website about alternate shipping options I'll post that info here.

It's been a week since I contacted JP's website and I still haven't received a reply. I'm guessing I won't be hearing from them. Looks like we either have to pay the high shipping costs, wait for a possible general release or buy this release during Page's tour. Hahaha....Jimmy Page on tour. That's a funny concept. Saw him in '88 and it was a great show, but no matter how much he talks about getting out there, I'll believe it when I see it.

They're still totalling the postage.

They must be waiting for their new abacus to arrive.

I was going to get one too but no way with that shipping cost. I agree richman, Royal Mail is reliable and the delivery times are very reasonable considering it's overseas...probably could get it shipped by Royal Mail for about 9 USD and I would have 100% confidence in that.

It's too bad because the dollar is fairly strong right now. The last couple years it seems like most times I've done Amazon UK orders it takes about 1.67 dollars to equal one pound. Right now it's 1.54 dollars to equal one pound, and only 1.12 dollars to equal one euro. Seems like a pretty good time to do some import CD ordering.

EDIT : Anytime is a pretty good time to do some import CD ordering. Now seems like an ESPECIALLY good time to do some import CD ordering.
