I went with the Fleischer cartoons. Still my favorites.

Another vote for Fleischer, and also the movie with George Reeves.

These two and the first Reeve movie were my picks.

I voted for "Man of Steel" as movie #3 because I was thinking of feature length films. I didn't consider the Fleischer cartoons until after I voted. Sorry!

Honestly, this poll needed only three entries. Any other choice is wrong.

If it had been good, Ross Webster would've appeared in Smallville.

Think about it.

The most glaring thing I notice about this list is how there hasn't been a truly great Superman movie yet. Even the good ones have big flaws -- Superman: The Movie came the closest but the tedious pacing and horrid time-travel ending screwed the pooch there.

I think the scripts from Superman: TAS' pilot and the episode 'Stolen Memories' could have been combined to make a great live-action Superman film.

I don't understand why the '40s cartoons are included here. They're not movies, unless there was a full length movie version produced for one of them.

Maybe there should be a separate thread/poll for best Super-Cartoon.

Following up on this idea -- here would be my cast for this movie. I'd keep Cavill as Superman and Crowe and Zurer for Superman's Kryptonian parents, but would change everything else up.

I think the casting is obvious, but just in case, from R to L -- Henry Cavill as Superman, Cobie Smulders as Lois Lane, Thomas Brodie-Sangster as Jimmy Olsen, John Goodman as Perry White, Mark Strong as Lex Luthor, Benedict Cumberbatch as Brainiac, Jeff Bridges as Pa Kent and Diane Keaton as Ma Kent.
