Records by Sex Pistols, Chic, Neil Young, Lou Reed added to Grammy Hall of Fame

Records by Sex Pistols, Chic, Neil Young and Lou Reed have all been inducted into the Grammy Hall of Fame.

27 recordings have been added into the Hall of Fame, which continues "the tradition of preserving and celebrating timeless recordings" and now totals 987 recordings.

A selection of both albums and singles have been included, including Kraftwerk's 1974 'Autobahn' LP, Bob Dylan's 1975 LP 'Blood On The Tracks', ABBA''s 1976 single 'Dancing Queen', Neil Young's 1972 LP 'Harvest', Chic's 1978 single 'Le Freak', Sex Pistols' 1977 LP 'Never Mind The Bollocks, Here's The Sex Pistols', Alice Cooper's 1972 single 'School's Out', Leonard Cohen's 1967 album 'Songs of Leonard Cohen', Otis Redding's 1966 single 'Try A Little Tenderness' and Lou Reed's 1972 single 'Walk On The Wild Side'.

Neil Portnow, President/CEO of The Recording Academy, commented: "With recordings dating as early as 1909 through the late '80s, this year's Grammy Hall Of Fame entries not only represent a diverse collection of influential and historically significant recordings but also reflect the changing climate of music through the decades. These memorable, inspiring and iconic recordings are proudly added to our growing catalogue — knowing that they have become a part of our musical, social, and cultural history."

Madonna and AC/DC to perform at Grammy Awards next month

Madonna, AC/DC, Ariana Grande, Ed Sheeran and Eric Church are the first performers to be announced for the upcoming 57th Grammy Awards, which will take place on February 8.

The annual award show's official Twitter account made the announcement today following rumours that Madonna would be performing. The singer had uploaded an image onto her social media accounts yesterday of a Grammy Award wrapped in the same black wire used in images to promote her upcoming album 'Rebel Heart', with the caption "Rebel Hearts see you Feb 8th @theGRAMMYs."

This year will mark Madonna's fifth performance at the ceremony. The seven-time Grammy Award winner last performed on the show last year with Macklemore and Ryan Lewis. The show will also be AC/DC's first performance since the release of their new LP 'Rock Or Bust'. The performance will take place without drummer Phil Rudd, who is currently facing charges of drug possession and threatening to kill in Australia.

Ed Sheeran is nominated for two awards at this year's Grammy's: Album of the Year and Best Pop Vocal Album for 'X'. Ariana Grande is also nominated for two awards: Best Pop Duo/Group Performance alongside Jessie J and Nicki Minaj for 'Bang Bang' and Best Pop Vocal Album for 'My Everything'. Eric Church is nominated for four awards, including Best Country Album for 'The Outsiders'.
