I have a bootleg LP from this era with plenty of material that could have been included. That is a disappointing bonus disc but I already vowed not to judge these packages on the bonus material and just enjoy what they give us.
Pete, I believe the original album was released in late February '75 (around the same time as my first drum lesson, even though I wouldn't make the connection until many years later), so this reissue will be almost exactly 40 years later.
I was hoping that the Presence reissue would show up on the same day, and then this summer we would see In Through The Out Door and Coda. I wonder what the release schedule is for the remainder of the year.

No version of the out-take 'Swan Song' included? Very lame bonus disc to my favourite double album. I'll still get this but sure Is disappointing.
I always say this (and hopefully I'm right), but these bonus cuts are simply alternate versions and were intended to be a companion to the songs that made the albums.
I am hoping the expanded Coda will offer what I'm hoping for in terms of fully fledged rare cuts.
If not, that will be a bummer, but I am enjoying these for the sound anyway.

That's what I've thought and hoped for as well since Coda itself was an album of outtakes. It would great if the new one was many discs with many more outtakes that haven't been included on the original albums.

Weakest bonus disc yet. At least we'll get the 96/24.
I like parts of this album, but not nearly as much as the first 5. To me LZ's peak ended with HOTH, & this was the start of a long decline.
A long decline?
Not to me.
Physical Graffiti is one of my favorite albums ever made.
Presence is genius and In Through The Out Door showed they weren't afraid to embrace new direction even if a few songs are so-so.
I'm with Pete on this. I saw no decline in their discography, and I find the later albums just as interesting as the early ones. Of course, they've been my favorite band for 35+ years so maybe I'm a bit biased.

I don't think it's bias Rich, that music is superb and Zep grew with the times each album-never staying stagnant.
If only Bonzo hadn't died. That next album was supposed to be very heavy.

TOTALLY agree! And I am loving these deluxe sets. I have 2-3 live shows from each tour, and am completely satisfied with those, so am not sniveling about a lack of live material here. I've never heard any Zep studio outtakes before so love these additions. And just holding each box - you know these are for the ages.

I also don't think that Physical Graffiti marked the beginning of a decline--I would rank "In Through The Out Door" as not only one of their best albums, but as one of the best final albums by any band ever.
The decline would have begun had they hired a new drummer after Bonham died.

Geff, wanted you to know that while we may be the minority, you aren't alone in your opinion. Loved I - IV, and half of the Houses of the Holy tracks I really love, but the other half not so much. So that, for me, was the start of albums I didn't consistently love from first to last track, and that continued on all the rest of the albums even more so. I get by on a couple compilation discs I made for HOTH through ITTOD.
I've been buying the remasters though, and will likely continue just for what sounds like a slight step-up in sound qualtity from the 90's remasters to my ears (and re-make my complilation CD-Rs.)

And I'm with Rich on this. Led Zeppelin is the only major band, other than the Beatles, who never made a "bad" album.
