well, it's 2015 and there are still some very big name artists that have not released some of their albums on compact disc in the U. S.
>buckingham-nicks - s/t >neil young - time fades away >neil young - journey through the past >steve miller - rock love (may have been released as an import, i'm not sure) >steve miller - recall the beginning: journey from eden (may have been released as an import, i'm not sure) >bob seger - noah >bob seger - back in '72 >bob seger - brand new morning >greg allman and cher - all man and woman >beatles - live at the hollywood bowl >beatles - rarities >beatles - love songs >jim capaldi - electric nights (as far as I know, his only album not on CD)
some lesser know albums, albeit still not on CD as far as I know:
>longbranch pennywhistle >shiloh >eric stewart - frooty rooties >eric stewart - girls girls girls >ali thomson - take a little rhythm >ali thomson - deception is an art >inside moves soundtrack - includes the very rare ambrosia song "outside".

1.) Roger Miller - None of his non-compilation albums have ever been released on CD, as far as I know. While there have been some very good comps, many of my favorite songs have been overlooked/ignored.
2.) Johnny Cash - There are quite a few of Johnny's Columbia albums from the 60's thru the 80's that have never been released as individual CD's, though I believe that some have been included in large boxed sets. The one I really want to see is Hello, I'm Johnny Cash. Some of my favorite songs on here include "Southwind", "I've Got A Thing About Trains", and "Route 1, Box 144". This album was part of the Columbia Records suitcase set, but this overlooked gem should be available as an individual disc.
3.) Herb Alpert - Several of Herb's 70's solo albums have never appeared on CD. These include Coney Island, Just You & Me, and Main Event Live (w/ Hugh Masekela). Also, his terrific post-Rise album, Beyond, was available on CD only in Japan for about 15 minutes back in the 80's. Some of these are now available as downloads on Herb's website. Randy Badazz (Herb's nephew) says there probably won't be any more CD reissues in the future.
4.) Maynard Ferguson - Kind of a cheat, but Sleepy Night Records announced a 2-CD compilation of unreleased performances called Lost Tapes, Volume 3 a few years ago. They just posted that there are issues with MF's estate that are holding up the release. (As an aside, Sleepy Night Records is looking to expand their reissue schedule and have asked for requests.)
5.) David Chesky - Rush Hour (Columbia). The title song was on an Oldsmobile demo cassette when I was a kid, and it sounded great. I'd love to hear it again.

Wild in the Streets was released last year, or 2013? On Curb records.
Thanks, somehow I missed that. According to Amazon, it's one of those "manufactured on demand using CD-R recordable media" deals, but I'll take what I can get.

But I'd never heard of any additional CDs being officially released, and a search of the Internet appears to confirm that. I'd be right behind you and Rick in the line for Yachts remasters ....
Very cool Linda snagging that. Of course I have their stuff on vinyl as most of do but I can't believe they still haven't put out their stuff on CD. I buy it in heart-beat if they did.
Here's my list from last year. I believe the only changes are:
1. Neil Young - Time Fades Away has been released as an official download, which to me is just as good as cd; in fact since it's high res, I consider it far superior to cd.
2. Pono is also SUPPOSEDLY going to release Replay, but no one has seen it as anything but Vaporware so far afaik.
3. I also since learned that that Eric Anderson - Be True To You was briefly released in Japan.
Other than that, no change...............
1. Wendy Waldman Which Way To Main Street (her entire Warner catalog is once again oop also) 2. Barry Melton ... The Fish 3. Buddy Miles Live 2 LP 4. Buddy Miles We Got To Live Together 5. Buckingham Nicks 6. Country Joe & The Fish Reunion 7. David Bowie 1980 Floor Show (I know this is a boot, but Tony Defries appears to have the master tapes as the version of Time from this was on one of his 90's UK rarities collections in pristine remixed sound quality) 8. David Werner Whizz Kid 9. Duke Ellington - the 50's material that Sony doesn't have in print 10-12. Rick Ruskin All 3 Takoma releases 13. Shari Ulrich Long Nights 14. Neil Young - Journey Through The Past 15. Shari Ulrich - Talk Around Town 16. Shari Ulrich - One Step Ahead
And as CSN Replay has not yet turned up it gets an honorary #17
Sad thing is except the Country Joe (which I neglected to copy before I sold my turntable) I have every one of these as either a needle drop or a boot or both. And with the sorry state of today's mastering, most probably sound better as I currently own them!
In fact on the 3 Shari's, the closest thing to an authorized edition (they were authorized by the artist) are the 3 cleaned up needle drops I did that my business sells!

That's probably what I actually saw at Virgin. A case of misremembering crossed with wishful thinking, I suppose.
