Ted Leo's new album "Living With The Living" is out Tuesday on Touch And Go. I have an advance copy, and it's fantastic. If the Jam had made London Calling, it would sound like this record. Just great songs, great sounds, great playing. I can't recommend it highly enough. Check out his last album "Shake The Sheets" on itunes if you want to get a sense of him. That album was my favorite of 2004, but this one is better. Gives me hope. He's playing in SF on 4/14 for any Bay Area folks.
I noticed that many of your were bemoaning the lack of good news music, so I thought I'd share the good news.

Already ordered it from Amazon. Should get it in the next few days. The last one was good also.

Picked up a copy of the new Ted Leo this weekend (it came with a bonus ep). Haven't heard it yet, but will before the day is out.

This one got a very positive review in the latest Paste magazine, but I'm not otherwise familiar. I'll have to look him up on myspace to see what he sounds like...

Picked up the 2xLP of this, fantastic album. I think it's the most solid release he's had in a while.
The bonus EP is very enjoyable and something I hope becomes a DL from his site or the Touch & Go site. Really be a shame for it to be limited to the point of people missing out on it.
Anyone a fan of his old bands (Sin-Eaters or Chisel)? Everything he does is pretty damn good.

I got to see him and his band this past Friday night. The show was awesome and they were all in fine form. I'm still pretty new to his music, so I'm getting a crash course. The show was at a club called Cat's Cradle in Carrboro NC, and I've seen so many great shows there over the past 2 years....and I'm still amazed at the ticket prices. This particular show was $12.
Anyway, for those who may be interested, Mr. Leo's concert from Thursday night at the 9:30 club in Washington DC was broadcast live by NPR and is available to hear or download for free on the website.

Thanks for the link to that show. Will grab that later.
I'd like to travel to the Cat's Cradle sometime, one of my favorite Lucero bootlegs is from a show there. I've heard nothing but good things about it, sounds much like the Grog Shop in Clev. in many ways.

Cat's Cradle is a good little place. I wish I would have experienced more shows there, but I'm trying to make up for it as much as possible now. The place has a nice vibe about it as well as the town. It's technically in Carrboro, but you may as well say it's Chapel Hill.
