I will personally buy everyone of these being a big Rick Wakeman fan! About freak'in time!

In the "Prog" April issue Rick Wakeman announces that Universal, who now owns A&M will be re-releasing re-mastered versions of Rick's eight A&M albums from the 70's. The Six Wives of Henry VIII, Journey to the Centre of the Earth, The Myths and Legends of King Arthur and the Knights of the Round Table, Liztomania, No Earthly Connection, White Rock, Criminal Record and Rhapsodies.

These will be staggered releases The research department has found some rare additional stuff and it's a possibility the "missing" music from each might feature. No Earthy Connection is penciled in to be the first and their discussions about doing 3 cd box sets and eventually in vinyl.

There are surround mixes in the vault too so that would be awesome.

Rick Wakeman has released a new remaster of the Journey albums and are available for order at his site and I would guess Amazon.
I ordered a remaster but didn't go for the Journey mega set.

Didn't get these BUT did get the recording that came along with the Rick Wakeman Fanpack from last year. The re-recording including newly discovered "long lost" music that was added to the piece. It is exceptional!

Got the new remastered restored extended version of Journey To The Center Of The Earth today from Amazon UK.
It has a different cover from the original. A new painting by Roger Dean.

John, was it this one?

The description says it's a re-recorded "2014 version" of the album, not a remaster of the original. (It doesn't look like any of the Universal remasters have actually been scheduled yet.)

Maybe it's a stand-alone of the Classic Rock Magazine (newly recorded) version?

Yep that's it. He's been touring England with this extended version. Wish he would come here but it would be too expensive to pull off (I would imagine ticket sales would not be great).

Bump: The first two releases in this series are now available for pre-order from Amazon UK, linked in the first post. They're listed as CD/DVD sets, but no track listings yet, so I'm holding out hope that the DVDs might include surround mixes of the albums. (If you click through the links you'll also see standard CD and LP editions of the remasters.)

I have a few of the surround mixes in my collection (unofficially) ;)
Hope we do get the official versions this time out. I have many many CD versions of these two albums, even a Russian boot derived from an lp.
I have placed my pre-order.

I hoping for a Quad remix on the DVD. That would be awesome.

Bump: Confirmation from Universal UK that the original quadraphonic mixes of each album will be included on the bonus DVDs.

I know Universal has done surround mixes for Wakeman many years ago but were never released. Finally we will get some awesome stuff.

EXCELLENT News! I still have my Quad vinyl and have good memories of my experience with the mix way back then. So now on re-mastered DVD this is going to be so cool.

They've begun to ship and do have the Quad mix.
