The single is a bit too straight-forward (verse chorus verse chorus) for my tastes, but she still sounds great.

I am driving the bus for this album.

I always love Kate as an extra voice on a song, but I'm not sure how well she'll be able to carry an entire album by herself. I guess we'll have to wait and see.

I think she's one of the best singers in pop.

I'd be happy to hear an entire album of songs like this:

(I am pretty sure every voice on that particular single is her, as it's from the Cindy-less album they did in 1992.)

Well one thing for sure, she is a very "colorful" girl.

Ugh. After their last AMAZING album, I was hoping for a new B-52's album. Bummer.

The B-52s haven't broken up. There still is a chance of a new album. Although considering the length between the last two, I wouldn't hold my breath.

I realized a while back that a lot of my favorite B-52s tracks are the ones with little or no Fred Schneider involvement. For instance, "Queen of Las Vegas," "Give Me Back My Man" and, yes, "Revolution Earth" (good call on that one, Doot!) I'm happy to see Kate doing something on her own, even if just for a lark. Is it too much to hope for a Cindy Wilson album too?

This. We love Fred like a weird uncle, but sometimes he really obscured the brilliance of Kate & Cindy's harmonies.

And don't forget Roam. It may have been played to death, but it was 25 years ago.

Really liked the new video above.

No one said anything about them breaking up. But yeah, it's been, what, six years since the last one? If Katie is doing a solo album now, I doubt we'll ever see another B's studio album.

Funplex was amazing. It's a shame they didn't continue the momentum.

Is my math right? In a 37-year recording career, they have only released 8 original studio albums, yes?

Funny, I've been assembling a "Fred-less" B-52s playlist, just to hear how it sounds. (It's not entirely Fred-free ... I threw in a couple tracks in which his vocal contribution is extremely minimal, like "Deadbeat Club" and "Topaz.") It's not done yet ... still missing a few tracks cause they're not on my iTunes yet.

Still, I thought it would be an interesting experiment.

I might add this song. Has everyone seen this? It's several years old, but I just discovered it a few months ago. Lead vocals by both Kate and Cindy.

Heh, I forgot about that despite commenting on it.

Thirty-six years is not a bad run, although I still find it surprising how few albums they put out in that long.

Second single is out. I like it better than the first, although the video is lame.
