Charlie Brown, Grinch, and Rudolph are the staples. We always watch Mr Magoo and some of the other Rankin-Bass specials too (which ones vary), but I couldn't skip any of those 3.

Blackadder, Star Wars and Emmet Otter's Jug-Band Christmas (other) were my choices.

Black (adder), Brown (Charlie), and Green (Grinch). Magoo is 3.5.

The John Denver & the Muppets special has never gotten an official home video release, while the soundtrack album has been reissued up the wazoo in various formats on an assortment of labels. What's the hold-up?

Santa Claus is Coming to Town . Even as a kid, I was a sucker for origin stories.

I've encountered a certain demographic that worships Santa Claus Is Comin' To Town .

I'm surprised to see Grinch beating Charlie Brown, but both are worthy.

I'm scared to ask, but I'm curious. What demographic?

Oops. I'm thinking of The Year Without a Santa Claus . An age group maybe 6-7 years younger than me, so just about reaching 50 now. They know all the words to the Snow Miser and Heat Miser songs.

Yep, love those Rankin Bass specials that were big news in my household when we were small. They still hold up all these years.

The South Park Christmas Special deserves some recognition. After all, it's Christmastime in Hell, also.

That's a good one that we also watch almost every year. I am 43 and grew up with it.

I was lucky enough to grow up when the Charlie Brown Christmas and Grinch were new. And in the 60's, Rudolph seemed to come on NBC on my birthday.

Sad that they havent created anything as good as those 60's and 70's staples (even with todays technology).

I thought they might eventually do a Tinkerbell Christmas - right up their alley, but not yet. Tinkerbell and The Secret of the Wings is a wintery theme, though.VIDEO
