You wait over a decade for a proper Rod Stewart album..and now maybe we get two in two years..
Rod has commenced work on the follow up to Time - spending time in the studio at his home. He is still writting so it's not a return to full covers and he says there are "personal" songs on it - not unlike Time in that respect then.
Whilst he has mentioned Christmas release, he has often done this in the past and been too optimistic, so this may be Summer 2015...
The fact he is writting also suggests that he and Universal have agreed that the contractually stipulated third album (following Time and Merry Christmas baby) need not be a Country one, which was originally the case.
This deluxe edition of Time includes a second disc of bonus tracks by the legendary British crooner.
ROD STEWART Time (2013 UK Deluxe Edition 28-track 2-CD set featuring the singles She Makes Me Happy Its Over and Brighton Beach plus the 19 Bonus Recordings including live material recorded in Los Angeles; issued in the stickered slim-double jewel which remains sealed in its original shrink-wrap!)

Kevin Savigar is heavily involved again by all accounts - writing , producing etc. Funnily enough, I prefer the sound on the Chuck Kentis stuff on Time (mostly the bonus tracks which were done before Savigar was on board). I think some of the KS production lacks a rock edge and I hate the sight of "programming" on the credits..the band were fine playing real instruments!
Marc Jordan, who Rod has covered four times in the past has been asked to write some lyrics (3 songs so far, but not certain they'll make the cut)
Setting Rod up for some more jokes with this interview..he may have taken cocaine in a certain fashion in the past. Now he says he has songs coming out of the same orifice...clearly meaning prolific..

Spring 2015 anyway for those interested.
Thanks. I'd forgotten all about Rod's ahem, unusual talent for inhaling a white powder into a hole not his nostrils. <puke>

I'm not a fan of Rod Stewart's covers at all. I don't get it. I mean if I wanted to listen to old standards I'd listen to them being done by the original artists who sang them. I'd like to see Rod return to his 80's-90's form, "Some guys have all the luck" or "This ole heart of mine", etc. Listening to him sing Sinatra is I dunno, unnecessary LOL!

May date clearly no longer the case. Now looking like a possible September / October appearance for this album. Recording finished on May 1st and Bernie Grundman is mastering, as he did on Time....
Very little information coming out about this one...

The tracklists are copied from the UK editions, but based on what rs4951 said above, I wonder if we'll end up having to get the British deluxe to obtain all 17 tracks:
The intro had me thinking of the Stones and I needed 2-3 listens to dig this, but I do...and he's being a bit brave vocally at his age.. If you're familiar with his catalgoue think Legless / Moment of Glory / Any Taylor collaborations...plenty of guitar, horns and backing vocal.
Rod will also be interviewed on the same channel at 8pm uk time on Monday, Johnny Walker show
