The Cranberries singer Dolores O'Riordan has been arrested on the suspicion of assaulting an air hostess.
O'Riordan was detained at Ireland's Shannon Airport this morning after an incident occurred on a flight from New York's JFK airport.
"[Irish police force] Gardai were called to meet the aircraft following an allegation of an assault on a female Aer Lingus air hostess," a police statement reads. "A Garda was also assaulted during the course of the arrest."
ITV report that the air hostess in question "suffered an injury to her foot" and that a police officer was hurt but "did not require hospital care".
There's been no statement from O'Riordan or a representative of the band on the matter.
The Cranberries formed in Limerick in 1990, splitting in 2003 before reforming again in 2009. The group became one of the most successful pop outfits of the 90s, selling over 40 million albums worldwide.
They released their latest album 'Roses' in 2012. O'Riordan released her last solo album 'No Baggage' in 2009. http://www.nme.com/news/cranberries/80972
