I've decided to try an experiment with this movie and go out of my way to avoid any trailers, reviews, spoilers, etc. Based solely on it being a Christopher Nolan film I'm interested in seeing it, and I can't remember the last time I saw a movie without any prior knowledge or exposure to it.

I've managed to stick with this, with the exception of seeing the trailer before Guardians of the Galaxy.

Not hard, considering there's been next to nothing about it other than that, really. Or there has, and I'm utterly oblivious?

If you go to a lot of movies, it's in heavy trailer rotation right now. That's about it, not much on TV that I've seen.
I doubt it'll have the complete media saturation that we saw with Guardians.
Right, but he said he saw the trailer already. I really haven't seen anything to speak of about the movie, even accidentally, like I generally do with big movies. Of course it won't have the marketing push of Guardians, but I would have expected something more.
I'm looking forward to it... but there's a small part of me that remembers Contact and is skittish about seeing the AlrightAlrightAlright man in a space movie.
Short version: they ended up using real science in the movie and the Black Holes we will see on screen are an actual approximation of what Black Holes look like according to our current understanding of them.
Something like this:

I have enough faith in Christopher Nolan as a director and storyteller that if I were to hear that he was going to make a movie showing an actor reading the phone book, I'd give it a shot.
Considering that this looks like a very SERIOUS movie, there is a chance (probably slim) that it might win a certain award. If Nolan himself gets that award, I will applaud even if the movie is crap.
But even if the movie is very good and there's a critical bandwagon for it, barring anything unforeseen I think the best movie of the year so far is Guardians of the Galaxy. Not because it's a comic book movie or because it has great special effects, but because this movie has the most FUN packed into it than any other has for a long time. And the older I get, the more I realise how much "fun" is underrated as a value in making movies these days.
