From classicrock.com:
Bush are marking the 20th anniversary of their debut Sixteen Stone with a remastered reissue of the project along with three other albums.
The record, along with Razorblade Suitcase, The Science Of Things and remix LP Deconstructed, drop on October 13 – just a week before new album Man On The Run launches.

This remastered version sounds pretty good. Brickwalled I'm sure... http://www.spin.com/articles/bush-reiss ... er-stream/Does anyone know if there is going to be a deluxe box set version of 16stone? I listened to a Gavin interview recently and he mentioned alt. versions and doing some big things for the anniversary of 16stone.

That's part of why I've been asking about the "Live At Stubbs" blu-ray in the other Bush thread; the Live At Roseland concert isn't brickwalled, but oddly the 2 music videos & the bonus unplugged performances are brickwalled..

I was at that Portland show. It was a good show but they played along some pre-recorded tracks which is really odd and I still can't believe it! I've seen them many times and never have seen them play along with pre-recorded tracks before. Weird.

Badly brickwalled. 16 Stone & Razorblade are both DR6.

You said this recently in a Porcupine Tree thread: Geff R. wrote: It also is very compressed (Disc #1 DR5, Disc #2 DR7) & it sounds great. IOW, we should trust our own ears.

Linda, while I don't know exactly what if anything else I wrote there, That has happened less than 5 times out of hundreds. At least I am honest enough to admit it. It even happened to a lesser extent last night when I bought the HD Tracks Mott The Hoople box. DR9, & way too quiet. But it is the EXCEPTION, not the rule. I a/b'd a few tracks on 16 Stone (original cd vs remaster) on my big system. The remaster is LOUD. The original is significantly quieter, although it also used too much compression. DR8 on the original. Too bad, there were some tonal improvements, but some significant audible negatives also; including some very sibilent "S"'s on the remastered Everything's Zen.

This was music meant to be loud-it's 90's Alt Rock with an emphasis on over-driven guitars.

There's a difference between turning up the volume control & doing it with compression. To my ears, a HUGE difference. Believe me, I'm not adverse to turning music up loud.
