I'm looking for a representative compilation of The Seekers. I'm not knowledgeable about them at all, so I really don't know where to begin. Can anyone recommend a compilation that does as good of a job as possible of being representative of their work, but also containing the most amount of hits? In other words, if I was to own one title by The Seekers, which one should it be?

I've got the Capitol Collectors' Series CD and one of those digipaks, "Seen in Green". I might get the new 2-CD comp.

The Seekers morphed into the New Seekers in the early 70s, scoring with "I'd Like To Teach the World to Sing" (the Coke commercial song) and Melanie's "Look What They've Done to My Song, Ma." They were even more popular in the UK, landing 8 hits in the Top 20. There are a number of budget-priced import comps for the New Seekers, but beware of rerecordings.

The Camden originals budget comp of The New Seekers is the real thing. The original album of "I'd Like to Teach the World to Sing" has also been reissued - on Repertoire, I think.

This is the version that I have...I think it's the originals.

Oh, mistake! The budget comp I mentioned is on Spectrum, not Camden Originals. It's called "The Very Best of The New Seekers". Spectrum and Camden have good sound, even though they aren't remastered. If you can live with generic cover art, there are savings to be made!
