It's finally happened...Diamond's voice has degraded to the point that it's a distraction for me. There's just things that he can't do anymore. I actually kind of like the material. It's just too bad that he doesn't have the voice to pull it off anymore. I thought that the title track was particularly distracting. I kept silently willing him to sound better and more powerful, but it just wasn't happening. Additionally, whoever came up with the idea of the low notes in "Something Blue" should be banned from working with Diamond in the future. It's really too bad. I've always been a big fan. I wish he was up to this.

Funny...I just saw the two of them together on The Graham Norton Show.

His voice did not have the same reaction to me, loving this album when I heard it on NPR. I enjoyed it so much, it's the first Neil Diamond I bought on day of release (and the first Neil Diamond album I've owned since Primitive.)

Me too-he sounds pretty damn good to me as is the material.

Easily one of his best albums.

I'm glad you guys are enjoying it. It was just too distracting for me, but I'm certainly happy that others are enjoying.

Excellent album. I like this even better than the Rick Rubin albums.
