From Loudwire.com:

Big news from Black Sabbath! According to singer Ozzy Osbourne, the band has begun to plot its end, as they plan to head back into the studio in 2015 for one more album before embarking on one final tour.
Earlier this year, it was rumored that Black Sabbath’s July 4 gig at London’s Hyde Park would be the band’s last. However, guitarist Tony Iommi gave fans some comforting news when he vowed Black Sabbath would tour again.
In a new interview with Metal Hammer, Ozzy Osbourne speaks of Black Sabbath’s ’13′ album and touring cycle. “The whole Sabbath experience this time around was great,” Ozzy begins. “We all made friends, we didn’t f— around, we all knew that we had a job to do, and we did it. It was a lot of fun. So we’re going to do one more album, and a final tour.”

Ozzy continues, “Once the dust settled after the last tour we started discussing the idea, because we were getting asked about it all the time. I said to [wife/manager] Sharon, ‘What’s going on? Because if there’s no more Sabbath, I want to get on with my own thing again,’ and she came back and said, ‘Let me look into it.’ Three weeks later, I asked her about it again, and she said, ‘Oh, I still have to talk to so and so…’ and I said ‘Sharon, I ain’t f—ing 21 anymore, if we’re going to do I want to do it before I’m 70!’ Time isn’t on our side! So she made the call and came back and said, ‘Yeah, the record company wants another album.’ I believe [producer] Rick Rubin is going to do it with us again.” [via Blabbermouth]

There you have it! Stay tuned for more news on Black Sabbath’s upcoming studio album and “final tour.”

They "made friends" so much so that he had to have Sharon ask what was going on with the band?

Huh.

Well, Ozzy admittedly had relapsed during the making of the last studio album and he looked a little ghastly on the concert blu-ray, so maybe there were some issues with that.

If this is truly going to be Sabbath's studio album finale, it would be nice to see Bill Ward reclaim the drum throne.

But something tells me that ship has sailed.

:sigh:

Although the trio have no new material written for what will be Sabbath's twentieth studio album, Osbourne anticipates that sessions will begin early in 2015.

"It'll be sooner rather than later," the singer insists. "Obviously a lot of it is coming down to Tony's health, he's obviously got his cancer treatment, but we'll get onto it next year. I don't know if we'll be writing in England or LA, but I'll fly to the fucking moon for it if I have to!”

(hennemusic) Ozzy Osbourne says that he hopes original Black Sabbath drummer Bill Ward will return to the lineup for the band's final album and tour. Ward declined to participate in the reunion album - 2013's "13" - and tour over a contractual dispute; the group recorded the project with Brad Wilk of Rage Against The Machine while Ozzy's solo drummer, Tommy Clufetos, handled live dates for the tour.

Ozzy tells Esquire: "What I'm really happy about is, if this is Black Sabbath's last hurrah, then we'll have ended it on an up note rather than when I left in 1979 and everybody was f***ed up on one thing or another and I was marked out as being the worst, you know. It ended on a bad note, so..."

"The only thing sad about it is I hope Bill Ward can get his stuff together to do this because... one of the biggest things I'm proud of in my life was that Black Sabbath wasn't a band that was created by some business mogul in London or New York. That we were four guys who had a great idea and it worked from record one, and we still... Would you believe that it took 45 years to get our first number-one album in America? It was amazing to me."

Asked if the band have started writing songs for the final Sabbath album, Ozzy says, "No. Although I texted [guitarist] Tony [Iommi] the other day. I said, 'It would be a great idea if you could send me some musical ideas so I can try and work some melodies around so we don't have to go searching for the song structure.' So I'm not starting from a cold block, you know?"

Ozzy Osbourne’s guitarist Gus G believes Black Sabbath are close to starting work on their final album.

The metal icons last year revealed plans to make one more record before retiring. But the details have remained unclear, with doubt over an accompanying tour, and even more doubt over whether original drummer Bill Ward will rejoin Osbourne, Tony Iommi and Geezer Butler for their swan-song.

But G thinks Sabbath will roll into action in the coming months – he tells My Global Mind: “We’re doing Japan in November. However, I don’t think there’s going to be a lot coming out of Ozzy because he’s going back to Sabbath to make another one.

“That’s what they’ve been talking about. You never really know with them, so I don’t make those kinds of plans with Ozzy.”

He adds of working with the icon: “When I’m on stage with him it’s amazing. Every moment with that guy is precious – I’ve said that before and I really believe that. I try to enjoy every second when I’m on tour with him.”

G released second solo album Brand New Revolution in July. And with the chance of downtime ahead of him, he’s aiming to reactivate his band Firewind.

“We’ve had some discussions with the guys to go back and make a new one,” says the guitarist. “I think a lot of fans start to miss us, which is a good thing.”

Tony Iommi quoted in a Birmingham Mail interview:

Quote:
I've been busy writing songs ever since the '13' sessions. At that point, we thought there might be another Sabbath album. But that's up in the air now so I don't know when or where they might appear. The tracks are ready, though.
