The Teen Titans Are Getting Another TV Show, This Time It’s Live Action

Quote:
And you’ll probably never guess which network it’s going to wind up on…

Chief Creative Officer of DC Entertainment, Geoff Johns, just tweeted a link to a Wall Street Journal article revealing plans for a Teen Titans television show. The project is said to be close to a deal with TNT.

The Teen Titans have had a huge roster throughout the years so they’ve got a lot of characters to choose from. But if Johns’ tweet and the article are any indication, it looks like Batman’s protege Dick Grayson, aka Nightwing is definitely aboard for the ride.

“The television series would more closely resemble a popular 1980s comic called ‘New Titans.’ It featured a 20-something version of Robin who changed his moniker to Nightwing, as well as the new heroes Starfire, Raven and Cyborg,” writes WSJ.

The article also notes Akiva Goldsman and Marc Haimes would be writing the pilot. Goldman had been working on the adaptation of The Dark Tower (which has been stuck in development for years) but was also previously attached to a Teen Titans film project. He’s also written Batman Forever, Batman & Robin, A Beautiful Mind, and is currently working on the sequel to Divergent, Insurgent.

Just last week we told you Warner Bros. was working on bringing Supergirl to television, what are your thoughts on a Teen Titans show? Or simply Titans, as the article refers to the yet-to-be show.

I think the more properties out there, the better.

Won't be happy until they announce the Discovery Channel giving the greenlight to the Metal Men series.

Would they use Cyborg in both a TV show and the JLA movie? (Yes, Doot, I know he's already been in Smallville.)

They'll have Gotham going (hopefully) when Bat V Supes hits the screens, so they'll have two Alfreds and whoever else from the Bat universe shows up in both.

I guess so. The WB used to be adverse to that kinda thing.

In a perfect world they'd use the same actor for both, and tie their universe together. But that will never happen.

By the way, the article says that the series would "more closely resemble" the New Teen Titans, which featured characters Starfire, Raven, and Cyborg. It doesn't say that anyone in particular is earmarked to be in it at this point.

I'd rather see a 60's version using 60's topics, fashion, and slang.
That 60's Show.

Nah, Angela Cartwright is too old for the part now.

They'd have to cancel a reality show somewhere to make room in the schedule.

It would be a reality show. I want contestants' brainwaves imprinted on the robots responsometers. They do not get to choose their metal and have 4 hours to come up with a plan before they are attacked by Chemo.

Cyborg has already been in Smallville.

That wasn't the real Cyborg. That was Cyborg 90210.

Cyborg has already been in Smallville.

I wonder is Cyborg has ever been portrayed in live-action.
