Probably won't bite for 1 track (& Cherry Red tends to be a bit bright sounding at times), but thanks for the info!

I'll be getting this.
This album is a flat-out materpiece!
Cherry red remastered Uriah Heep's Equator and it sounded just fine.

Anyone get this yet?
I want to know how it sounds and looks-this album is genius.
I heard this label also did The Battle Rages On back in March-was that remastered too? I love that one and it sounds too thin.

It's gotten cheap, too. I'd want info on the sound quality before considering a purchase, as i don't remember the original sounding bad. These days remasters tend to either be much better than the original or much worse, & it's a crapshoot how these indy labels choose to remaster.

I have both Purpendicular (1996) and The Battle Rages On (1993) in this series. I'm a long-time Purple fan and I personally learned some things from the informative booklets. I also personally like the sound; remastering is by Andy Pearce, who mastered the well-regarded UK Thin Lizzy & Black Sabbath Deluxe Editions from a few years ago. I don't think many folks would accuse Mr. Pearce of brickwalling.
FWIW, The Battle Rages On package from Hear No Evil also includes the one-disc Come Hell Or High Water live CD distillation of the final Blackmore Purple tour in late 1993. Oddly, this CD was originally released in 1994 on BMG (E.U. & Japan) but not until 1997 in the U.S. on the very tiny Fuel 2000. I remember because I got it at Best Buy and wondered why they had waited until four years after Blackmore left to release it (this was pre-Internet days for me).
CHOHW sounds more professionally mixed than the 2006 4-CD Live In Europe import box set which includes two full shows (Excellent Stuttgart and just so-so Birmingham, where Blackmore threw a hissy fit about cameras recording the show and played guitar only sporadically). But I prefer the box set because it has 2 complete shows, whereas CHOHW is just an excerpt really. I read that just one track (not sure which) is from Birmingham and the rest are from Stuttgart. Another twist: Hear No Evil last year released the Stuttgart show and the Birmingham show as separate 2-CD releases. No idea what they sound like but I've been tempted to get the Pearce-mastered Stuttgart gig.
Interestingly, the last Purple album released on a major label in the U.S. was in fact The Battle Rages On (Giant Records, a division of Warner Bros); even though Purple had an overseas record deal with BMG through Purpendicular followed by another non-US deal with EMI through Bananas, (2003) every U.S. release from Purpendicular onward has been on a small label--CMC International, Sanctuary, and now Eagle.
Now What?! last year's superb new studio record, was the first Purple album to chart in the U.S. since TBRO--both still outside the Top 100. Black Sabbath's 2013 album reunion album 13 reached #1 and Now What?! only registered at #110--which was NOT an accurate reading of each album's relative quality.

Got both Purpendicular and Battle Rages On remastered today in the mail ($10 each).
They sound very different.
Purpendicular still has that great crunch and Battle Rages On finally has the bottom end and punch it was lacking, though it's a might loud.
Beautifully packaged and great liner notes on both.
Andy Pearce remastered both of them (as well as the live Come Hell Or High Water) which came with Battle Rages On.
Get both if you're a DP fan especially if you can get them at $10 each like I did.
