Billy Idol fans will have two things to celebrate in Rocktober as Idol has announced that he will be releasing his first new studio album in almost a decade in October along with his previously announced autobiography.
The new album was produced by Trevor Horn (Yes, Rod Stewart, Seal, John Legend, Pet Shop Boys, Belle & Sebastian, Tina Turner, Hanz Zimmer, LeAnn Rimes, Simple Minds) and is Idol's first new studio album since 2005's "Devil's Playground."

The Idol camp did not announce a firm release date, but said in the announcement that the album would arrive around the October 7th release date for Idol's autobiography, Dancing With Myself.

Fans should get their first taste of the new music in late summer and Idol also expects to continue on the road into next year. He is currently on a European tour.

Very much looking forward to this as Devil's Playground was an excellent album.

Add in Trevor Horn (!) as well as the autobiography which HAS to be a wild read this will be great!

Rock icon Billy Idol has revealed more details about his first new album in almost a decade and he has also released the first single from the effort, "Can't Break Me Down.".
The new album will be entitled "Kings & Queens Of The Underground" and will be released on October 21st via Idol's own record label BFI Records (in partnership with Kobalt Label Services).

The bulk of the new album was produced by veteran record producer Trevor Horn (Yes, Seal, Rod Stewart, Jeff Beck, The Buggles, Simple Minds) with two tracks produced by pop producer Greg Kurstin, who produced the first single. Check out the new track here.

Fans will be getting a lot more Billy Idol this fall as he will also be releasing his self-penned book "Dancing With Myself," which is set to be released on October 7th and he will be launching a European tour in November.

(hennemusic) Billy Idol is premiering "Bitter Pill", a track from his forthcoming album, "Kings & Queens Of The Undergound." Due October 21, Idol's first project in almost a decade was primarily produced by Trevor Horn, with Greg Kurstin also contributing as a producer to two songs.

Idol will launch a fall European tour in support of the record; the 3-week, 11-show run starts November 5 at the 02 Academy in Birmingham, UK and wraps up in Milan, Italy on November 23.

The new album will be issued two weeks after Idol publishes his self-written memoir, "Dancing With Myself", on October 7. The autobiography delivers a brutally honest account of Idol's journey to fame - from his early days as frontman of the pioneering UK punk band Generation X to his international solo career.
