Help! My son (9) has an Xbox and has just moved to a house without internet access. He tells me that he can't play any games now because it asks him to sign into Xbox live even when playing on games with a disc. Is he right? Surely he must be able to? I don't want to go to the house and sort it because reasons.

I tried searching the XBOX site but couldn't find an answer, but he should be able to turn it on, and sign into his gamertag, and play without an internet connection. Is that what it's asking him to do?

My grandson plays games all the time on disc without internet access.

I hate that even though the system has WIFI, you can't access the internet unless you buy the Xbox gold membership. I could understand that if you wanted to play live with others, but to have to have it to acces an internet that I am paying my internet provider for is just bullshit.

This seems to be a helpful bit of info. Your son isn't the only one who's had the same issue.

A month or so ago we had the same issue. It depends on the game usually. I'd say most games have an offline mode to them.
