Saw a screening of the film last night... no doubt, cool effects, but I could tell it's a first-time writer. After awhile, I stopped caring about how neat everything looked and just kind of got bored. Definitely some fun moments and funny lines, but overall I'd say it's not that good. Kids may like it and I think it'll open strong, but I think it's going to take a nose-dive during its second weekend.

I finally saw it. The only downfall of the movie is I don't think it did well enough financially to warrant a sequel.

This gave me the same joy that the Indiana Jones movies did.

Great stuff!!!

The story was sort of a Bond movie plot with sci fi elements, but... I think it served its purpose. I thought that SKY CAPTAIN was a fun, old-fashioned adventure film with neat effects. I liked it enough to buy the dvd.

I love the shit out of this movie. It's such a shame that Kerry Conran has done next to bugger all since.

I swapped my brother a different DVD movie for his copy of Sky Captain.
He hated it because of various physics flaws and things like that. I liked
it because it felt a lot like those old movie serials.

I'd like to see more people make serial-like stuff like Sky Captain.

I don't remember exactly why I didn't care for it, but some of it could well be unrealistic physics, sure. But I'm fairly certain that wouldn't have been the only thing, or even the main thing. I can overlook such things if the rest is worth it. It just wasn't, as I recall. And I don't have a soft spot for old serials, either. Old cereal is often stale.

When I first saw the trailer, I remember wishing they'd do a Golden Age Superman versus robots movie like that.

Inspired visuals but at times, it was readily apparent that the stars and their reactions were surrounded by green screen.

I saw this. I don't remember a single thing about it

Maybe crushing disappointment, but that's it.

I haven't seen this but have always wanted to. It looks like it'd be worth at least one viewing.

Angelina Jolie's lips were even more pillowy than usual, if I recall correctly.
