Printable version Multi-platinum recording-artist Bryan Adams is releasing of his new covers album, 'Tracks Of My Years', a diverse collection of time honoured classics from the 50's, 60's and 70's.

The album will be released September 30th and features a wide range of influential musical styles, from Chuck Berry's "Rock & Roll Music", Ray Charles' "I Can't Stop Loving You" to The Beatles' "Any Time At All". The album will also include a brand new track entitled, 'She Knows Me' co-written with Adams' long-term writing partner Jim Vallance. The Adams/Vallance partnership was responsible for many of Bryan's classic hits including 'Heaven', 'Summer of '69' and 'Run To You'.

"Making the selection of the songs for the album took a long time" noted Bryan. "We recorded all kinds of songs until the songs sort of presented themselves, or sounded different enough from the originals. We did about 3 months of recording, spread out over the course of 2 years. Radio was king when I was a teenager," Adams reflected, "you'd hear McCartney's "Admiral Halsey" straight into "Kiss and Say Goodbye" by the Manhattans. Radio didn't discriminate back then".

"Tracks of My Years" is an eclectic mix of songs reflective of the time when rock was played alongside pop, country and R&B, and follows Adams' critically acclaimed acoustic album, 2010's "Bare Bones", a release that resulted in sold out shows across Europe, North America, Australia and South Africa.

If he had any gumption he'd include his song "Diana" on this release. So many Bryan Adams fans have never even heard one of his best tunes and that just ain't right.
BTW, what is the one song mentioned at the top that's NOT going to make it and why? I'm betting it's "Never Let Go" off of The Guardian movie soundtrack, which of course will be too bad as well!

Diana is on the Japan edition of Reckless & on the oop "CD3". I agree it's one of his best & should have been on GH.

I had no idea it was on the Japanese release of Reckless but that doesn't surprise me in the least. Why are the Japanese always blessed with the bonus track CD releases? It kind of pisses me off, LOL.

Bryan Adams will revisit his youth this fall when he releases The Tracks of My Years, a collection of covers of some of his favorite songs from the 1950s, '60s and '70s.

The disc, Adams' first studio album in more than six years, features 10 classic tunes, and one new original song called "She Knows Me," co-written with his longtime collaborator Jim Vallance. The deluxe version of the record adds five more tracks. The album's cover features a photo of Bryan sporting extremely long hair that was taken just before he turned 16.

"Making the selection of the songs for the album took a long time," Adams says in a statement, noting that the process spanned three months of recording spread out over two years. "We recorded all kinds of songs until the songs sort of presented themselves, or sounded different enough from the originals."

Noting the diversity of the songs on the project, Bryan explains, "Radio was king when I was a teenager. You'd hear Paul McCartney's 'Uncle Albert/Admiral Halsey’ straight into 'Kiss and Say Goodbye' by The Manhattans. Radio didn't discriminate back then."

Among the songs the Canadian singer covers on The Tracks of My Years: Bob Dylan's "Lay Lady Lady," The Beatles' "Any Time at All," The Beach Boys' "God Only Knows," The Association's "Never My Love," Chuck Berry's "Rock and Roll Music" and the aforementioned song by The Manhattans.

The Tracks of My Years is due out this fall; the release date is not yet final, but it'll be sometime in either September or October.

If only Bowie knew what he was starting with Pinups............................. I think it was the first YACA & was definitely the best!

There seems to be a "deluxe version" but it's only extra track downloads. Does anyone know if there is a physical version with the extra tracks?

I was going to read a review of this album on allmusic.com, but they must have a beef against Bryan Adams. As thorough as the site usually is, I was quite surprised to that he is nowhere on it. Covers and karaoke versions of his music abound, but there's no sign of him. Weird, huh?

Thanks, everyone. That's still weird, but at least there's some type of an explanation. I guess those reviews cut like a knife. It sounds like someone needs a thicker skin...
