Product Description
Los Angeles, CA's Weezer will release their highly anticipated ninth album, "Everything Will Be Alright In The End," on October 7th, 2014 on Republic Records. Produced by Ric Ocasek, who previously helmed production on the band's first and third records ("The Blue Album" and "The Green Album"), "Everything Will Be Alright In The End" is the band's first collection of new material in four years.

Since forming in 1992, Weezer has released a myriad of celebrated, chart-topping albums, selling over 13 million records worldwide. Following an intensely prolific couple years at the end of the aughts, the band chose to deliberately dial down the tempo in 2010, a move singer/guitarist Rivers Cuomo says allowed him to write at a slower pace, giving the songs he wanted to use for an album the time to gradually grow into their final forms. He started almost every song on the piano, eventually transferring them to the guitar before taking them to the band. When it came time to record the material, Weezer reunited with the man who helped them make some of their most iconic album-length work, Cars frontman Ric Ocasek. The resulting album, "Everything Will Be Alright In The End," is a stand-out gem in Weezer's vast and varied catalogue, a reflection of a much-loved band at their very best. Organized thematically around three groups of songs, it is an album that utilizes that sound from the band's earliest days to tell new stories in 2014, creating some of the finest, most heartfelt songs Weezer has ever recorded.

1. Ain't Got Nobody
2. Back To The Shack
3. Eulogy For A Rock Band
4. Lonely Girl
5. I ve Had It Up To Here
6. The British Are Coming
7. Da Vinci
8. Go Away
9. Cleopatra
10. Foolish Father
11. The Futurescope Trilogy

Their last couple albums were barely okay, for me. Maybe one good album between the two. Hopefully the new one will stream before release so we can check it out.

I'll agree that nothing off of Hurley grabbed me, but I thought Raditude was great start to finish.

I still have my Weezer Snuggie.

(Radio.com) Just a week after Weezer unveiled their intriguing album cover art for their upcoming record Everything Will Be Alright In the End, the band has revealed a release date for the project.

In a YouTube clip released this week (July 8), the band lets the world know that on Sept. 30, 2014, they'll be hearing new music from the band. The video is titled "Return To Ithaca" and gritty guitar and striking piano is heard in the background as well as snippets of some of the music off the record.

In an interview with EW.com, the band offered a telling description of the new album. "If you took the Pinkerton band and then play all the other records - that's what we sound like now," drummer Patrick "Frisbee Wizard" Wilson said. "Bombastic, loose, kind of booming. This record sounds like it's going to have the tight structure of Blue Album with a little bit more abandon like Pinkerton."

Yeah, they lost it years ago. The last few albums were pretty lousy. Last album that was even decent IMO was the Red Album in 2008.

Doubt there's anything more than a few good songs left in them, but here's to hoping.

Does anyone know if there will be more than one edition of this album? In the past Weezer has released standard & deluxe editions on the same day, and maybe even exclusives for certain retailers, so I want to hold off on ordering the new one until I know I'll be getting the most complete version.

Seriously, Rivers, you don't need to apologize for Raditude. It was a great album.

I usually avoid listening to advance tracks prior to an album's release, but I did check out "Back To The Shack" and didn't think much of it. Maybe it'll sound better in the context of the album. I do like how the song "Lonely Girl" sounds in this brief clip, which makes me hopeful that Rik Ocasek produced another gem:

He can apologize to me-the album was painful!

I won't download music or apologies-a brickwalled apology especially! :p

Wow, wow, wow. I finally got around to listening to this and I absolutely love it. Easily their best since Maladroit and possibly even Pinkerton. They were once one of my favorites but lost me to the point where I didn't even buy the album before this one... but man, I am just jamming out on this new one. I listened to it twice in a row the other day and I never do that.

I'm with you. This is a really good one.
