Was "Live 1975-1985" ever remastered? I know it's been re-packaged and re-sized, but I don't know if they ever slipped a new mastering in there.

Thanks!

I don't believe so. Don't know why it would need one.

Once upon a time, this title was considered by insustry experts to be "the contemporary gift item." What I find saddest about this Billboard article is how many music retail chains were in existence back in 1986:

I miss the '80s music scene with stores, physical product an' all....

:sigh:

There are at least four separate masters for the Live 1975-1985 release:

1986: C3K40558 / CD40567 (Original US)
1986 (?) : 450227-2 (Austria)
1997: C3K86570 (US)
2005 : 88697287502 (Japan 5 disc Mini LP)

All four of these have different peak values so you'll have to let your ears decide if they were truly remastered.

Wasn't one of the selling points of the 75-85 box that the final shows of the BITUSA tour had been recorded digitally, and the set was intended to showcase what was then state-of-the art digital audio? I've heard that this was also the reason that the set contained far more 1985 than 1975 material.
