Okay, I found a provisional (and poorly-formatted) track listing for this collection, and it's now in the first post. The box will contain CDs of twenty original Philadelphia International albums.

Wow...$47.20 delivered from the UK. That's just a little bit better than the $111 from Amazon US. I love the Philly Intl stuff, so this was a no-brainer.

which expanded the scope of my Philly Soul collection beyond the 1997 3-CD "Philly Sound" box set. There's so much amazing music on both boxes that I'm sure this new 20-CD box will be incredible...especially at that price. Count me in.

It's got Billy Paul and his gigantic 70s hit "Me and Mrs Jones" we have a thing going on. Never owned that lp. Anyone have that one?

This is a little off thread, but when you go to the Amazon.com.UK page for tis set, it also lists the DIana Ross & Marvin Gaye Complete Motown sets (which have been previously announced) and a Donna Summers Complete Casablanca Album set. That's the first I've heard of that one. Now if only Motown would get off the pot and release a physical version of The Complete Motown Albums of Stevie Wonder. I've given up hope for any sort of Immersion Edition versions of his catalog, but it would be nice to have actual CDs.

"Me And Mrs. Jones" is on the 360 Degrees Of Billy Paul album. The CD version of the album that was worked on by Leo Sacks and Mark Wilder from 2008 is fantastic. It's from the short-lived Total Soul Classics series. Among other 5-star performances, it includes a great version of Elton John's "Your Song" on it. I highly recommend that you get it.

Hang onto that one...with this new Sony/PIR worldwide deal, that set will be going out of print and selling for ridiculous prices before you know it.

I would like a CD version of the Complete Stevie Wonder set selling on iTunes...all of the albums, plus all additional 7" and 12" singles and B-sides.

I've had a busy week and waited until today to place an Amazon UK order, which was going to include this box set...but the price has now gone up by more than £9 to £37.99. That's definitely more than I want to spend on this, even though it's still a very reasonable price. Fingers crossed that the price drops again. I really should learn to jump on this kind of deal in the future.

The short answer is "in" cos I just adore P.I.R. I have all the O'jays Total recall soul discs and a large chunk of the Westbound&Edsel UK reissues but there's still chunks missing from my collection plus I rather suspect the mastering for some of these *may* be better than a few of my UK re-issues. I didn't bother with the BBR issues of the 'by Royal Appointment' Three Degrees having heard some nasty stuff from Cherry Red when it comes to mastering and possessing the UK original vinyl editions it wasn't strictly necessary although I'd love to see a decent reissue of the second album on cd.
As well on compilations, I have the '07 US Sony box set, the UK Love Train 2 cd 1998 compilation and that 10 disc box 40th anniversary set.

Mine arrived today, niecly packaged by Amazon.UK and in perfect condition. As is the case with most of these kinds of boxes, the albums themselves are in very simple LP replica sleeves with a booklet. The booklet is nice, with a one paragraph synopsis of each album and then a full page for each album's tracklists and credits for each track. All in all, a very nice package and with 20 full albums delivered for about $47, you just can't beat it.

Got mine today also. What a bargain!

I was amused to see the back cover of Billy Paul's 360 Degrees Of Billy Paul was scanned from the Quadrophonic LP.

Most of them appear to be (I say appear because I refuse to install EAC on my computer to play the numbers game) to be the Legacy remasters where issued with the obvious exception of Jacksons S/T which sounds close to my European original cd as that wasn't but it's nice to see that with the PIR logo on the disc rather than Epic.

It gets better as I had an email to say cos the lowest price on my preorder was GBP28.99, I get GBP9.20 back on this!
