Do it! They are solid TV in the FX tradition of the Shield, Thief, etc..

I haven't watched the most recent one yet, but I am watching the series. Overall I am liking it quite a bit, but every single person in the world knowing he shot the guy in Miami is getting a bit old.

But he pulled first, James.

I like that they shot in Harlan. That's pretty much what my county looks like too. Although, the first shots in Lexington weren't shot in Lexington. I'm not sure if they used Lexington or not.

Yes. It was...

Justified. :-D

Yeah. I get that. It's just that he's somehow the most famous U.S. Marshal since Matt Dillon because he shot someone in Miami. I can understand everyone in Harlan knowing just because it's him and he's from there. I mean my family back home found out I was in the crappy movie I was in before people here where I live. But when he went out to California everybody also knew him. Cops shoot people. The world continues pretty much as is.

There is a unique quality to a small town that is hard to replicate using a different small town. If it meant something to the producers that Harlan look like Harlan it only makes sense.

I think that everyone knowing about him shooting the guy is just one of those quirks a series has from time to time. I can live with it.

The exchange that he and Cameron from Ferris Beuler had about Hermie the elf from Rudolph was great.

"Hermie the elf?"
"Oh yeah, the little gay guy.."
"He's not gay! Anyway.. I was watching that when they put me in witness protection and I thought that being a dentist might be a good life"
"Is this some elaborate way of you telling me you're gay?"

I don't think that I could apply any filter of reality to this show to be honest, it's a Western set in modern day. I mean, we have seen Raylan kill what, 5 people? in what amounts to a couple of months, plus he was involved in at least 3 or 4 more being shot. US Marshall or not, any cop with that kind of body count in that short a time span would likely be put on desk duty for the rest of his career, but Raylan keeps getting more and more cases that involve gunplay. In the face of that stretch I don't really blink at the fact that every cop or criminal he meets knows that he shot the gun thug in Miami and gave him 24 hours to get out of town first.

WTF is a "Gun Thug" anyway?

Is there another thread for this somewhere? Or do y'all not realise that you are watching the best programme ever made right now on your telly boxes? Shee-it. I am loving this season. Loving it. LOVING it. Every episode surprises and excites. I am not the biggest fan of Timothy Olyphant but he is awesome in this role.

Seriously, you are all talking about Agents of Shield but not mentioning this?? For shame.

Well, we are comic nerds, Evans.

I thought he was the worst thing in Deadwood, but he is mesmerising in this. So yah.

This is one of my favourite programmes ever, as of this season. It has rambled around a bit, but has been so consistently surprising and entertaining that I have been eagerly awaiting each new episode and am finding it difficult to wait for the final episode next week where it looks like Boyd might get his just desserts. Ava - bless.

I'm going to have to start over. I got pretty far on the first season, maybe 8 or 9 shows. But I got off track watching something else and didn't circle back. Now I need to start over.

It kind of killed my buzz when Elmore Leonard died. Just the fact that he was alive made it feel like the show crackled with more possibilities.

I've seen all but the current season (watching on Amazon) and I love it. Boyd Crowder is a brilliant character.
