Uriah Heep have revealed their 24th album will be called Outsider, and it’s set for release in June via Frontiers Records.
It’s their first studio outing since the death of bassist Trevor Bolder last year after a battle against cancer. In his place is former Zodiac Mindwarp member Davey Rimmer.
Last month mainman Mick Box reported: “We’ve finished the recording of the new album with our producer Mike Paxman – the last note has been sung and the last note has been played.
“We’re all very excited about the new songs as we head towards the mixing stage. It’s been a wonderful adventure thus far, and it will be good for the fans to have some new Heep music. ‘Appy days!”
No further details have been released at present. The band played at London’s Koko in March and recorded it for a DVD release, with the set including material from Outsider.

So pumped for new Heep!
These guys have done nothing but excellence since 1995 and the last 2 albums in particular (Wake The Sleeper and Into The Wild) have been jaw-droppingly good and heavy.
With Mike Paxman producing again, I have no worries about this new one.
Paxman adds color to the sound of everything he does and I am a fan of his work.

You are so right here IP! Loved these two albums (as well as some of the recent Heep Official Live boots). I'll be getting this as well.

Uriah Heep has announced that their new studio album, Outsider, will be released by Frontiers Records on June 10th in North America, June 6th in Europe and on June 9th in their native UK.
The band's founding member and guitarist Mick Box had this to say about the album, "We are very proud of our history, but it is equally important to keep producing new material."
"This new album, Outsider, is very much a rock album in true 'Heep' style. It shows that we still have the same passion and energy for our music that we have always had."
The new album, the band's 24th studio effort, was produced by Mike Paxman (Asia, Status Quo) and features the band's new bass player Dave Rimmer, who replaced the late Trevor Bolder.
Box had this to say about his late bandmate Bolder: "We lost a world class bass player, singer, songwriter and friend. While Trevor was ill, he wanted us to continue working, so we used a bass player called Dave Rimmer, who Trevor approved of. It was only natural that Dave carried on with the band."
The band plans to launch a world tour in support of the new album.
