from the 4-way site:
Don Felder, who played guitar in the Eagles from 1974 to 2001, will release a solo album titled Road to Forever on Oct. 9. It's his first solo project since his 1983 debut. Guests include David Crosby, Graham Nash and Stephen Stills, Steve Lukather, David Paich and Steve Porcaro of Toto, Randy Jackson, Tommy Shaw and others.
After leaving the Eagles and ending a 29-year marriage, Felder said he was inspired to "write out the stories of my life as songs. After I collected myself, I found I needed to go out and play music again, and that's how I began recording the album. In the process, I found out who I really am. I had to find out what happened when I almost lost it all."

saw him live a couple summers ago, very nice show and seems like a very nice and humble man. he did not play anything new though, all eagles songs and 2 of his own, it was a casino show, show he was limited to an hour and a half.

I'm curious to check this out if it is straight-ahead rock music, unlike his dreadful previous solo album (which I could not figure out what it was supposed be - disco?).

After waiting weeks for Amazon to get this (and the new 2CD Bond collection) here, I must say I am very impressed with it after two listens. This sounds more like an Eagles record to me than any of the other band members' recent output. I like the guitar riff on "Wash Away," even if it seems nicked straight out of STP's "Interstate Love Song." Overall, much stronger songwriting here than on "Airborne." I will play this one a lot.

Brooklyn OWNS this charmer!
Oof...is that auto-tune I'm hearing on those vocals? Something definitely robotic/non-human going on there...

Renny,
There are 4, count 'em, 4 different bonus songs on the new Extended Edition of the CD which will be released this Tuesday. I've updated your opening post with the details.

They're not new tracks, Renny. The Extended Edition simply gathers up the 4 previously existing bonus tracks onto one disc: the Amazon MP3 bonus, the iTunes bonus, and the two Japanese CD bonuses. It makes for a definitive edition of the album.

Hmm, I bought the original disc for the inclusion of Crosby, Stills and Nash. Didn't know til now about extra tracks. Do any of those include CS and/or N? Any "guest artistes" of note on those four tracks? Don't get me wrong, Felder is great. I just don't "collect" him.

Living on the edge.
I purchased this album when it first came out and I really tried hard to like it. There just wasn't enough to get excited about. I played it a couple of times and then it got shelved, where it will likely remain for a long, long time.
