Hi.
I've been meaning to do a comic for most of my life and still haven't. I've been churning through numerous ideas in my head forever now and none are "good enough" for me to draw. I've gone through several collaborators with very little produced work to show for it -- it's gotten so bad, I've sworn to never collaborate with anyone again because I feel bad about making people work on stuff I never end up drawing.
Will I ever actually get something done? Man, I hope so.
What about you? Wanted to record an album? Make a movie? Something?

I've got two unfinished comic projects, another fleshed out in my mind, and the first run of a comic strip idea worked out.

Write a book. I've got a ton of outlines and barely fleshed out ideas in notebooks laying around somewhere. I lack the discipline required to write, rewrite, throw away, rewrite, on and on until a work is ready for publishing (assuming the quality of the actual story is worth publishing, hard work aside). It used to bother me but not so much anymore. I have other things I enjoy doing, and I still keep outlines and ideas on my computer when they come to me.

I was doing pretty well in 2011-2012, then my life went into the shitter. The last couple of months have been better though, and I'm finding myself writing and drawing again. I'm planning to buy a guitar in the next few weeks, too.

Marcus wrote: I should always be working on a comic but it's not the drawing but the writing. I should (and have been told to) write my own comic to draw but never seem to get good ideas for one. You could do what the COPRA dude did -- he liked Suicide Squad and just did an awesome Suicide Squad comic with thinly veiled analogues. You can do the same for Captain America or Flash Gordon or whatever. Just write a story for your favorite dude and then change the names and visuals.

I have been diligently working on learning guitar since Christmas myself. Every day at least 30 minutes a day, and more on weekends. It's something I've wanted to do for years but only recently felt that I would be able to maintain the self discipline to actually do something with it. I don't count that as something I will ever do anything for money with, or even create anything myself, but it's still something I guess. I enjoy it immensely.

I did that for about a year and a half, but just lost interest at some point. I realized I'd never probably be in a band.

Want me to start sending you super-hero characters and story ideas that you can have? I've been gradually building a hero universe in my head starting from the Golden Age. I've got so much to do before I get to this that I'll probably be dead before I put pencil to paper on it.

Well I'm not worried about that. I just want to be able to play. Mostly I want to play Blues. Playing guitar is just something fun for me, regardless of whether I got a chance to play in a band or in front of people.

I wish I could just be all Erik Larsen and just do what I think is cool, but I'm often stopped by my brain going, "But could this ever be successful in the mainstream...?"

I want to write and play for myself, and not feel like an idiot when I'm having beers with a bunch of bluesmen talking about making music.

I'm another unproductive writer. I'd figured I would be able to get more done after finishing my last bout of schooling. But work and increasing community service commitments seem to consume all my energy. Those things are more important than anything I'm likely to write anyway.

As you all know, I'm an attention whore. The only reason I would learn something new would be to do it in front of an audience. I can't do stuff just to do it.
I tried out for my church's band recently and failed -- he said I was good, but not good enough. So my options are to try the choir instead for a few years, or just give up. I'm still on the fence.

What about you? Wanted to record an album? Make a movie? Something? Pretty much the same as you and Marcus. I'd like to be able to write or plot a story, but it's got to be something that's interesting to draw. I've got phantom ideas that are starting to take a kind of shape but nothing has gelled yet.

I'm a failed playwright, guitarist, artist and academic. I still enjoy music, reading and watching TV though, so I'm not as cut up about it as I used to be. I can draw things accurately from life, I can play guitar (a bit) and I can write stuff, but I just don't feel like writing these days. I'd rather go to the beach or cook something elaborate for dinner.

Wrote about 200 pages of a terrible mystery novel. I've got a ton of comic book ideas, but don't feel that I'm at the level I need to be to come close to drawing them well. I'd love to write and draw something regularly, but I go through a love/hate relationship with A Boy Called Monk (it's the easiest thing for me to do, which is why I feel like I should be doing something more challenging). Flamebait mentioned awhile ago that I should try to do it as a graphic novel, and I think he's right, since it'd give me the comfort of familiar characters and style, but I'd have the challenge of writing and drawing a longer narrative. Ideally, I'd like to try to do that this summer.

I would love to be a writer of fiction. But I feel my best time of day would be morning to lunchtime. I find it hard to work and do stuff all day, then write. And I find it hard to get it going in less than an hour in the early morning.
And so I kill hobos to make the emptiness go away.
