If you could take your favorite pieces from all incarnations of the Batman, which pieces would you pick? For example, someone might pick the Adam West Batman, the Chuck Dixon Robin, the Frank Miller Commissioner Gordon, the TAS Joker, the Burton Batmobile, etc. So what about you?

    Your Favorite Batman?

    Your Favorite Robin?

    Your Favorite Alfred?

    Your Favorite Batcave?

    Your Favorite Batmobile?

    Your Favorite Jim Gordon?

    Your Favorite Gotham?

My answer would be Batman:TAS for every question.

The answer for me is the same for all of these questions - the ones that appeared from the Englehart/Rogers run in '77 through until the end of the Doug Moench era. A pretty good ten year run, IMO.

The Finger/Robinson original version would probably be the favorite. All my other favorite versions are variations of that one.

Fave Batmobile:the Golden Age one, with the bat-tering ram.
Fave Joker:Heath Ledger.
Fave Cave:the one with the dinosaur and the giant penny.
Fave Robin:Dick Grayson with Tim Drake attitude.
Fave Catlady:Michelle Pfieffer
Fave Gotham:one that's kept apart from the rest of the DC universe.
Fave Tone:cheerfully gloomy.(actually,Paul Dini put his finger on it when he said that "Batman's world should be dark but not dismal, the villains wicked but not horrific, and the action thrilling but not brutal." Precisely.)

Your Favorite Batman? Adams/O'Neil up through Moench. The prime years that set the tone I like best. Not too over-the-top grim, but not 50s/60s light either.

Your Favorite Robin? Tim Drake 90s. I like Dick Grayson as Nightwing.

Your Favorite Alfred? Same as Batman

Your Favorite Batcave? The classic. The movie and TV ones aren't as good as the comic/TAS.

Your Favorite Batmobile? First Batman movie one.

Your Favorite Jim Gordon? Miller's ex-military Chicago cop.

Your Favorite Gotham? Burton's

Your Favorite Joker? TAS/O'Neil Adams, since they're pretty much the same guy.

Your Favorite Catwoman? Miller's

Your Favorite Villains? Joker, Two-Face. Ra's Al-Ghul and Hugo Strange, but only sparingly. The Ventriloquist as he originally appeared was cool. And Scarecrow, 80s/90s "HROOOHAAAA" guy. :)

Your Favorite Tone for Batman Stories? See answer #1.

Your Favorite Origin? Year One

Your Favorite Batman?

Written like Denny O'Neill's Batman: Very "street level," few gadgets (smoke pellets, batarang, a little acid, lock picks)

Visually? Medium to small ears. I prefer the yellow chest symbol. No armor of any kind. And a cape that is ankle length.

Your Favorite Robin?

A 14-15 year old Dick Grayson.

Your Favorite Alfred?

Bronze age. No history as the Outsider though.

Your Favorite Batcave?

A nice computer that can do what today's computer can, no more. The penny, dinosaur and playing card. Fairly simple.

Your Favorite Batmobile?

1970's inconspicuous one.

Your Favorite Jim Gordon?

1970's Gordon. White haired. Seasoned.

Your Favorite Gotham?

Not Burton's with the weird architecture for sure. Just a regular New York City feel.

Your Favorite Joker?

Cesar Romero

Your Favorite Catwoman?

Julie Newmar.

Your Favorite Villains?

Ra's Al Ghul. The League of Assassins. The Spook. Riddler. Two-Face. Basil Karlo Clayface. Silver Monkey and Magpie from Beware. Poison Ivy. King Tut. Scarecrow. Hugo Strange. Deadshot. The original Ventriloquist. Maxie Zeus. Use Joker sparingly.

I don't care much for monster Clayface, Mr. Freeze, Croc, and could live without Catwoman, except for the 60's TV show.

Your Favorite Tone for Batman Stories?

Very street-level, usually requiring a little detective work. Night only.

Your Favorite Origin?

The one from the Untold Legends of the Batman mini-series.

A wise man once said: "Why limit ourselves to just one?" and truer words were never spoken. But that sounds like too much work, so instead I'll list my least favorite parts of Batman, which are much easier for me to narrow down.

Least Favorite Batman?

Bland, 70's - early 80's Batman in the comics.

Least Favorite Robin?

Chris O'Donnel. Or just Dick Grayson (as Robin) in general.

Least Favorite Alfred?

All Alfred is good Alfred.

Least Favorite Batcave?

The 'Bat's Cave' from the 1943 serial:

Image

Least Favorite Batmobile?

The very first one. It was red, c'mon!

Least Favorite Jim Gordon?

Pat Hingle

Least Favorite Gotham?

The one from Batman Returns

Least Favorite Joker?

Michael Emerson in the Dark Knight Returns adaptation.

Least Favorite Catwoman?

Halle Berry

Least Favorite Villains?

All Batman villains are just a Dini/Timm reimagining away from grandness. Except Magpie and Anarky. Those are the worst of all time.

Least Favorite Tone for Batman Stories?

See first question.

Least Favorite Origin?

Year Zero.

He mostly kept that hippy garbage out of his Batman work. IMO, it was the thing he cared about the most and he wasn't willing to go off model/character just to preach about oil spills, trees and factory smoke like the other stuff.

The answer to almost all of these would be the Dick Sprang version, preferably written by Bill Finger or Alvin Schwartz ...

...although the Paul Dini/Bruce Timm and O'Neil/Adams teams were pretty good, too.

Once Paul Dini and Bruce Timm worked their magic, the Ra's Al Ghul arc was awesome.

Rafael can't even like Batman right. I blame it on the fact he's neither short nor thick nor explosively muscular.

There is a very weird sexual undertone to your post. Are you hitting on me?
