I imagine I'm not the only fan here of Ambrosia, or their former co-leader David Pack. He has one of my favorite voices of all time and somehow at the age of 61 that voice seems undiminished. It's been about 9 years since his last full-length studio release, but coming next month is a new CD called "David Pack's Napa Crossroads." From what I've read, it's released in conjunction with some wineries in the Napa Valley region, and according to the track listing at Amazon (which includes sound samples) guests include Béla Fleck, Ray Manzarek, David Benoit, Robert Schwartzman (of the band Rooney), Alan Parsons, Todd Rundgren, Larry Carlton and several others). Based on those clips I'm very excited about this release. It might be a little too MOR for some tastes, but I could listen to Pack sing just about anything & enjoy it.
