Pricey, but I must have this. Still haven't gotten around to the individual deluxe reissues.

I'm not that big of a fan of Belinda on her own to go for this kind of thing, but I have to say that it looks really nicely done from a fan perspective. You get hits, you get oddball tracks from some compilations, you get live and you get DVDs. All in all, I'd love to see more of these kinds of collections from other artists.

This looks great. Does anyone know if it's the single mix of "I Feel the Magic" on here? It's so superior to the album mix, which shows up on everything else.

No "In My Wildest Dreams" from Mannequin. That would have been a really nce inclusion.

There is no Mannequin CD unfortunately (nor even a soundtrack LP). It has only appeared over the opening credits of the film, with annoying sound effects from the animated opening credits.

Which is so strange considering "Nothing's Gonna Stop Us Now" by Starship from the movie as a monster hit. It even had the movie artwork on the 45 picture sleeve. I always assumed there was a soundtrack LP but found out years later that there wasn't.

They did due diligence in trying to track down a copy of the Mannequin song. They went through the I.R.S. vaults and also consulted with the studio that released Mannequin. They even tracked down retired people who worked on the film. No one could find a master tape.

I hope they also did due diligence in trying to track down a copy of the single mix of "I Feel the Magic".

Now that this has been released, I have a question for anyone who's bought this --

Can anyone tell me if the single mix or album mix of "I Feel the Magic" was used for the CD? (The single mix was used for the promo video so it should at least be on the DVD.) If you're not sure of the difference, the single mix has extra piano playing, especially in the breakdown about 2/3 through (which is pretty sparse on the original). And you can also play the version on the original 1985 "Belinda" CD to see what the album mix is and compare. The single mix is far superior, so I hope it was used for this CD! It's never been on any of her CDs. And it never existed as a CD single!

Also, a question on the DVDs - are they Region 2 (for UK), or Region Free, or the kind of DVD that only plays in the computer and not on a DVD player? I live in the US, so I can't really play Region 2 DVDs. There might be some indication in the notation (or back of the DVD/CD packaging) as to what region this is.

I was thinking the same thing. A lot of artists could take a cue from this set.

I got my questions answered from sending an email to Edsel. In case anyone else is interested:

The album mix of "I Feel the Magic" was used. The person compiling the album picked the versions.

(I suspect the person compiling the album just didn't realize a single mix of this song exists.)

The 2 DVDs on the 5-disc "Anthology" will not be released separately as a DVD-only collection.

The DVDs are region-free so they should play in all countries.

Were barely in April and this set is the second item I am putting on my Christmas list.
