They all seem to be coming on at the end of the year.

Joan Fontaine starred in such classic movies as "Rebecca" (1942) and "Ivanhoe" (1952). She was 96.

Her movies weren't by and large the kind that IMWANners are really into, but her husband, William Dozier, was the executive producer and narrator behind the 1960s "Batman" series.

Thank you for posting this, Kid. I meant to start a thread this morning recognizing her passing. She was one of the last of the Hollywood royalty, along with her still living sister Olivia de Havilland. They hadn't spoken in almost 40 years. I wonder if Olivia will now release her tell-all book she's been holding onto? :)

RIP.

Rest well, Joan.
I just watched her about a month ago in Frenchman's Creek, a nice l'il pirate romance.
And I routinely see her as the lovely Rowena in Ivanhoe.

Her performance in Letter From An Unknown Woman may have been her best.

RIP
