I have not seen this listed yet. I am looking forward to it!

Product Description
PERFORMANCE DATE: MARKTHALLE HAMBURG, GERMANY, 12 JANUARY, 1980. Their only appearance as Rockpile (though Dave Edmunds appeared solo later in 1983). Rockpile was a tight, entertaining band combining the talents of Dave Edmunds (guitar, vocals), Nick Lowe (bass, vocals), Billy Bremner (guitar, vocals) and Terry Williams (drums). This is an essential release for fans, as Rockpile never released a live album in their short lifetime. Contains greatest hits from both Dave Edmunds and Nick Lowe's stellar back catalogues. Features songs contributed by Mickey Jupp (You'll Never Get Me Up In One Of Those), Elvis Costello (Girls Talk), Chuck Berry (Let It Rock & Promised Land) and, of course, Nick Lowe - Stiff Records songwriter supreme - including a version of his debut solo hit So It Goes. Informative booklet with twin liner notes - in English by Will Birch, noted British journalist, broadcaster, author and expert on the Pub Rock and the Southend Rock scene, and in German by noted journalist and broadcaster Uli Kniep. Expertly restored and remastered. Superb vision, outstanding sound. The best in the business!

1. Sweet Little Lisa
2. So It Goes
3. I Knew The Bride (When She Used To Rock And Roll)
4. Switchboard Susan
5. Crawling From The Wreckage
6. Trouble Boys
7. Girls Talk
8. Three Time Loser
9. Born Fighter
10. You'll Never Get Me Up In One Of Those
11. Promised Land
12. Queen Of Hearts
13. They Call It Rock
14. Juju Man
15. Singing The Blues
16. Let It Rock/Let's Talk About Us
17. Down Down Down (aka Feel Like I'm Goin Down)

This is exciting. There was a live set from them released in the last year or so where the sound quality wasn't very good. If this is better, it should be a lot of fun to hear and see.

Sounds interesting. I just played the Commander Cody last night that I bought months ago. It is quite good.

I have the Joe Jackson "Rockpalast" DVD set and the quality is excellent. I'm definitely in for this Rockpile set. Great track listing although I wish there was more from their one official album.

And I've had my eye on the Graham Parker set for a while. For some reason I haven't taken the plunge, so I'm waiting for a price I can't pass up.

I think there are UFO and MSG releases like this from Rockpalast as well?

Yep, among many many others that I'd love to check out one day. Joe Jackson is one of my all-time favorite artists which is why that was my first Rockpalast purchase.

Would I love to see a release of the King Biscuit Flower Hour Rockpile show from 1980 @ the Ritz in NY.

I like to say the Rockpile are the Replacements English cousins.

Will the DVD be in American format? (And, as long as I'm asking, why isn't everything?) :)

On the off chance you're being serious, here's the short version:

In the days of vinyl the USA record companies filed a law suit against parallel imports: records legally made in other countries that either sounded better than lame USA vinyl pressings &/or were cheaper. The record companies lost.

This is the reason for region codes on video.

Pal vs NTSC is a different issue that's going away in the hd video age (most flat panels and all pc's will play both both PAL & NTSC):

The USA & Japan chose the NTSC format for TV broadcast; the rest of the planet chose PAL. They are incompatible without conversion software (which is built into many players & accessible in the set up menu).

According to the listing at Amazon, this is NTSC, and based on my experience with the Joe Jackson "Rockpalast" DVD it should play fine in American players. I'm finding that the majority of music DVDs I've gotten from overseas the last couple of years have been region free & NTSC. Let's hope that trend continues.

They often make NTSC versions for export.

I was thinking more of a possible problem with the region code.

Sounds like the previous releases have been (blissfully) region-free....correct?

Based on the one Rockpalast DVD I own (Joe Jackson) I can tell you that it's region-free & NTSC. Not sure about the others, but as I mentioned above the majority of recent music DVDs I've gotten from overseas have also been playable here.
