"Again" contains new and self-penned tracks and some rarely heard Edmunds recordings, together presenting a personal collection which is truly consistent. Four brand new tracks, two of which are Dave Edmunds own compositions, "People Wanna Get High" and the title track "Again". Two covers "Georgia On My Mind" and "Your Song" which Edmunds has road tested and recently laid down in his own fashion; the former boasting his Beach Boys harmonies and the latter his Jerry Reed picking. "Return To Sender" was recorded as a tribute to legendary songwriter Otis Blackwell and driven by Edmunds' desire to be as close as to original as possible. Whilst "Babyface" captures the spirit of Little Richard. Both make an Edmunds album appearance for the first time. Includes sleeve notes written by Edmunds which are a track by track personal account. Since being based back in his musical seat of Monmouth, Wales (home of Rockfield Studios), Edmunds has toured with Joe Brown, played with Jools Holland and appeared three times on BBC TV's Later With Jools.

Very interesting. This is coming out on the Cherry Red subsidiary label RPM, which has traditionally been for reissues. I like the way they're focusing on the "new" aspect of this collection rather than the old material (although offhand I'm not familiar with the older tracks anyway) -- it's being marketed as Dave Edmunds' new album, not a catalogue release. Hopefully the label intends to sign more heritage artists to put out new material.

Okay, it looks like at least some of that unfamiliar material is from Edmunds' previous studio album Plugged In, which was released nearly twenty years ago and is now out of print:

Is "Your Song" the Elton John tune? That seems like an odd choice for Edmunds. "The Claw" is a Jerry Reed tune. That's more in Edmunds's style and a lot of fun. I see "Sabre Dance" is on the "Plugged In" record. That's an oldie but goodie for him. I probably bought that disc a long time ago, but have no idea where it is.

Since there are only 4 songs on this disc that I do not already have, I would be paying $21.00 for a 4 song EP. Dave Edmunds is one of my heroes in music, but this is nuts. I will pass. Does anyone else think that their intelligence is being insulted when they see something like this, or is it just me.

There seems to be a little Dave Edmunds resurgence going on. There is this release, and a remastered version of Subtle as a Flying Mallett.Tthis re-releasse features bonus tracks taken mostly from the soundtrack to the movie Stardust. Amazon also has listed a remastered import version of Dave's first album Rockpile, which is a January release.

I sure wish someone would remaster "Get It"!

Correct. It is terrible, and sounds just as bad as the Wounded Bird release.
