Product Description
Lenny Kravitz's double platinum 1993 album, Are You Gonna Go My Way, has been digitally remastered and expanded for a new 20th Anniversary Deluxe Edition. This special 2CD edition adds 20 bonus tracks to the album's original line-up, including 10 previously unreleased recordings from Kravitz's personal archive. All presented in Deluxe Edition packaging with full booklet of lyrics and liner notes.

Among the new Deluxe Edition's previously unreleased recordings are six demos and outtakes from the Are You Gonna Go My Way album sessions, as well as three early demos Kravitz recorded for Vanessa Paradis' self-titled 1992 album, which he produced. 'I May Not Be A Star (Light Piece For Vanessa)' has never been released in any form, while 'Travelogue' and 'Lonely Rainbows' were finished and recorded by Paradis for the album. A previously unreleased BBC Radio interview is also included, and acoustic versions of 'Believe,' 'Sister,' and 'Heaven Help' and seven official B-sides are also featured, completing the commemorative reissue of this epic album.

Seven (!) of the B-sides and acoustic tracks previously appeared on the bonus CD that came with the 1993 limited edition clear vinyl of the album:

I'm very curious about the demos for Vanessa Paradis. Her album is one of my favorites from the '90s.

It would want to be better than the 21st anniversary of Mama Said. The bonus tracks on that were mostly unlistenable, the demos were very very rough sounding. Could have all fitted on one CD if the demos were left off.

Bought this on a bit of a whim; I always liked the original album, but hadn't played it in years. Actually, this is pretty great. The original album holds up really well, and I'm very impressed with the other material, pretty much all of it. He was really in a huge creative groove when he made this record. The blend of Hendrix style rock and classic soul makes me wonder why nobody had done it before. A couple of the demos are pretty crude recordings, but interesting anyway, and pretty much everything from the studio is good/great. At the current Amazon price ($21.70) this is a steal. Buy it.

Wow! This is an EXCELLENT set! Definitely the best of the Kravitz Deluxe Editions by far. He had an embarrassment of riches to work with from that period. I just wish he maintained that consistent level of greatness.
