Studio albums only--the live albums deserve their own poll,and someone else will have to do the all the compilation albums--too many for me.
Tommy and Quadrophenia also left off--they have their own poll.
Since it's a safe bet *who* will win,2 votes are offered so your other favorite album can rate a vote.Maybe Endless Wire can finally get some love...

Quadrophenia for me, but for the purpose of this poll, it's Who's Next. . Live At Leeds though is easily the one live album that I play as much as any studio album that I own.

I'm convinced that the best Who album is a compilation that they've yet to come up with. I'm sure they'll keep trying though.
Within the confines of this poll though..."Who's Next" and "Who Are You" for me.

and if you burn it to a CD-R, replace "my wife" with "pure and easy" and it is even better, perfect actually!

As with the "Tommy" vs. "Quadrophenia" poll, I really can't select a preference; for starters, my preference would probably include either "Tommy" or "Quadrophenia".
But there's also the issue of original album vs. expanded album. I'd be inclined to say that if the qualifier was "original configurations only", I'd lean towards "Who's Next". However, the expanded "The Who Sell Out" from 1995 is my favorite such reissue ever, and ranking it above the original "Who's Next" album is entirely feasible IMO.

Who's Next, hands down. A desert island disc for sure. I bought the Japanese SHM-SACD version of the original mix last month. I don't think I will ever hear a more perfect recording.
