Anyone knows if this Cd reissue was part of EMI catalogue when they reissued their LP's on CD. The series that had stereo-mono on one CD?
Any help appreciated.
Know Magic Records (France) reissued it but in dismal sound. Am looking for the UK CD reissue. :sigh:

It appears that EMI did reissue this one.

Alex, you're not the first one to complain about the sound on Magic reissues. Is Magic a label to avoid altogether?

Thanks Mark & GoogaMooga. Now to find it.
Googamooga: Not everything Magic does is bad. It's just their remastering is too heavy on noise reduction on most not French artists. Some of their reissues on French singers like Richard Anthony & Adamo are quite fair. Would buy a lot more from them because of gorgeous packaging, but when the sound is bad makes everything bad. IMO.

Thanks Alex, now I've been warned. Unfortunately they've got some tempting Hollies reissues...

I've come close to ordering the Magic issues of "Butterfly" and "Hollies" because of the bountiful, period-appropriate bonus tracks on each. Anyone here know for certain because whether or not the sound quality on these is substandard?

Hi kapnkarl:
The Magic Hollies issues look very good.
I have them as am a fanatic completist on them.
But in all honesty feel "Butterfly" on Sundazed is the best reissue in sound.
"Hollies" the old Epic-Sony US edition CD sounds superb to me, and better than any other have heard. IMO.
Happy listening!
Alex
