"You don't do heavy metal in Dubly, you know."
Definitely brings back old live Grateful Dead casette days when traders would debate if shows sound better with this noise reduction technology or with more high end (but hiss).

I heard a trademark lecture about Dolby a few months back, which discussed how he made his name as an inventor, but that the Dolby trademark is now the company's most valuable asset.

Been a big fan of Dolby since back when I made mix tapes. And loved my first VHS Dolby Pro Logic sound system that did surround sound. Still remember my wife freaking out when I put on Terminator 2 on the system and Arnold shoots out the phone booth, sounded very real. RIP Mr Dolby.

I might be alone but I do not like dolby. I have hundreds of concert tapes (over a thousand when you consider some shows I have multiple different sources - the 88 tour - some shows up to 6 different tapers that I traded with - all different sq - different cuts- etc) - I think dolby eliminates some of the recording. I prefer the raw sound of the concert halls.
