Steven Wilson’s forthcoming video EP ‘Drive Home’ is now available to pre-order on Burning Shed. The video EP will be released in two different editions, DVD+CD and Blu-ray+CD. It features unreleased tracks, videos, live recordings, high-definition audio and a documentary.

DVD CONTENTS

The DVD features the new video for lead track ‘Drive Home’ along with the video for ‘The Raven That Refused To Sing’, both directed by Jess Cope. It also includes four tracks recorded live in Frankfurt during the recent tour. In addition, the DVD features audio recordings of two previously unreleased tracks, ‘The Birthday Party’ and an orchestral version of ‘The Raven That Refused To Sing’.

‘The Birthday Party’ was recorded in the LA at the same sessions as the tracks that made up the album while the version of ‘The Raven That Refused To Sing’ is a new mix that strips the track back to just the orchestra and vocals. These tracks are also featured on the CD, along with the audio from the live tracks and an edit of ‘Drive Home’. The set is packaged in a ‘mini-LP’ sleeve pac.

BLU-RAY CONTENTS

The Blu-ray features the new video for lead track ‘Drive Home’ along with the video for ‘The Raven That Refused To Sing’, both directed by Jess Cope. It also includes four tracks recorded live in Frankfurt during the recent tour. In addition, the Blu-ray features high resolution (96/24 stereo and 5.1 surround) audio recordings of two previously unreleased tracks, ‘The Birthday Party’ and an orchestral version of ‘The Raven That Refused To Sing’. ’The Birthday Party’ was recorded in LA at the same sessions as the tracks that made up the album while the version of ‘The Raven That Refused To Sing’ is a new mix that strips the track back to just the orchestra and vocals.

These tracks are also featured on the accompanying CD, along with the audio from the live tracks and an edit of ‘Drive Home’. Pre-order now for 21st October release.

Yep. I've added the Amazon UK links to Mr Fuse's post. (The listing pages are sparse so far, but appear to be the DVD/CD combo and the Blu-ray/CD combo.)

Got my copy today from Amazon UK. Nice to have all his videos from his last release in HD. This is a must own for Steven Wilson fans.

The blu is probably the version to get, as it's said to be true 96/24.

I've had a weird experience with the dvd. I checked the bit & sampling rate on 3 players. The packaging reports an unknown bit/sampling rate on the 2.0 pcm option. All 3 players & and my ripping software id'd the 2.0 as 48/16 (basically cd quality at the dvd standard).

Here's where it gets weird. The packaging states the 5.1 is 96/24 DTS. 1 player & my pc ripping software reported the DTS as "48k/?". One player did not report any sampling or bit rate, & one player reported it as "96/?"

Great music either way.

The CD sounds great. Have not had a chance to play the DVD.

I have the Blu ray on tonight and it's freakin gorgeous in both sound and visuals. What an achievement for Wilson and Blu ray sound. Wow! If you have a Blu ray player hooked up to a stereo, buy this now!
