Rather than issuing bootleg audio, i'd love to see a new remix of Jims classic songs without the overblown strings etc, possibly in 5.1 as well !

I actually found this in the $5 bin at Walmart a few weeks ago (before the release date!). I was surprised when I saw 2013 copyright on it.

The live versions and demos don't vary too much from the studio versions, but it's a very enjoyable listen.

Agreed--demos are more interesting the earlier in the game they were recorded. Sounds like these songs included here changed very little from demo to recording studio. (I must say that I particularly enjoy the demo version of "Time in a Bottle," without the studio bells and whistles and tweaks to Jim's voice.)

Speaking of remixes, I would love to be able to hear Maury Muehliesen's amazing guitar flourishes isolated--he was a unique talent that never really got his due outside of a relatively small circle of hard core Croce fanatics.

I'm one of those fanatics. Spent years trying to play his guitar lines.

Seems relatively short, timewise...couldn't they put out the entire Harper College gig like on the bootleg and tack the demos on at the end...sheesh!

Exactly. Makes me wonder if they might be holding off for "The Lost Recordings, Vol. 2"..... :-o
