Seriously?

Is the obvious omission intentional?

I'm not sure "Hanzo's penis" really counts as an adaptation of Superman.

For look, easily the Fleischer ones. For story and content, I'd go with the Dini/Timm series, which is not a choice in the poll. :)

The "best" were probably the original cartoons (which is what I voted for). My favourites were the George Reeves TV series and the '60s Filmation cartoons.

I know and I wanted it to -- that way, the "other" votes could now go to TAS.

I decided to go with SMALLVILLE.

I hesitated, because he's out of costume in that one, but...I think that all the important elements are there.

Superman:TAS. I liked it better than Timm and Dini's Batman

Dini and Timm. I was so stoked to hear of it before it finally aired and I wasn't disappointed. I still go back and watch episodes to this day.

I haven't seen enough of any of these to make a real judgment. Except Smallville, and while I love the first three seasons I can't bring myself to vote for it without due diligence. I've also seen the first Reeve movie and I'm not crazy about it.

Superman: The Animated Series. It had some really, really good episodes. The Fleischer Cartoons would be the second place, capturing a lot of the spirit of the earlier Superman.

Third would be extracting Chris Reeve, Terence Stamp and John Williams' score from the film series.

Fourth is Smallville. It would be higher if it actually had featured Superman from the 6th season or so.

I suppose I could add The Super Friends in there, too. Especially the "Super Powers Team: Galactic Guardians" variation. I think I can trace a lot of my love for Batman and Superman to that short season.

Superman TAS.

I watched the Gerard Christopher show when it aired in the UK in 1996. It did adapt a lot of the comic elements, but the execution was terrible, and some of the acting..........

Stacy Haiduk was easy on the eyes.

I think that the Christopher Reeve movies would win this hands down...if they had stopped after one movie.
