Press release from UPN..........

Today, UPN and Paramount Network Television will announce that this is the final season of STAR TREK: ENTERPRISE on UPN.

Star Trek has been an important part of UPN's history, airing on this network virtually every week for more than 10 years. ENTERPRISE has upheld the traditions of dynamic storytelling and high-quality production values that have become synonymous with the franchise.

All of us at UPN would like to thank Rick Berman, Brannon Braga and the incredibly talented cast for creating an engaging, new dimension to the Star Trek legacy on UPN. We look forward to working with them, and our partners at Paramount Network Television, on a send-off that salutes the franchise's valued contributions to UPN and satisfies its loyal viewers. We hope you will join us by helping to promote the final episodes of ENTERPRISE and bring this series to a close in a big way.

As we look to the future, the UPN brand is stronger than ever. We have a clear vision and direction for this network. In just the past year, we've seen AMERICA'S NEXT TOP MODEL emerge as a bonafide, homegrown hit for UPN, and our two new dramas, KEVIN HILL and VERONICA MARS, have received more critical acclaim than any shows in UPN's history. As a result of this success, the creative community has responded by making UPN a key destination for their top projects, producers and talent. Now we're in the midst of another tremendous development season, and we pledge to continue to produce innovative, quality programming that will build on our momentum.

We appreciate your continued support as we work together to
move UPN forward.

Sincerely,
Dawn Ostroff
President, Entertainment, UPN

Well, I can toss my TV set now. That was the last new series I watched. To hell with UPN. Their idiotic "6th free television network" concept ~ which was already outdated when it began in 1995 ~ has held Star Trek hostage through two series. Enterprise would have done very respectably in syndication. Especially this season, with Coto running the show and fulfilling its initial promise as a true prequel to TOS.

So what are they "moving UPN forward" to now? More lame sitcoms and reality shows? And what is our motivation to "support" them, anyway? What corporate nonsense ...

I wish someone like Coto had the reigns of the show from the beginning...think it would have helped....Berman & Braga gathered a great cast with great sets but I think the whole Temporal Cold War/ Suliban storyline was a mistake...

Maybe we can at least get Bakula back on a new Quantum Leap series if we're lucky...he is too talented a actor to be out of work.

Ditto on that Ed. I've been following Bakula since QL and was really th eonly reason I watched Enterprise when I did.

God knows that I never watched anything ELSE on UPN these days (and I think the only other show I EVER watched there was "Nowhere Man," also unjustifiably cancelled), so to my mind, the network is now "off the air."

Its on here on the Canadian Sci fi channel...Im not a big trek fan..but I enjoyed it. Always liked Bakula and found the show accessible unlike Voyager and DS9 which were continuity heavy and boring.

Plot Q - so who was the shadoewed mastermind from the future from the series opener? Some human from the future trying to start a war? Spoil me baby!

So between this and the last movie...is this the (merciful?) end of Star trek for a while?

We just got an official UPN station a couple months ago. Prior to that other stations were showing their stuff late at night or around 4 in the afternoon.

I haven't seen a full season of Enterprise since the first season (it was on at 10PM here and then afterwards it was moved to 4PM on Fridays (or Mondays?) and eventually 2AM on Saturday mornings.)

I did catch the season finale for last season and this past week's episode. I like those episodes better than what I saw in the first season. It is a shame that it's now going off the air. I was going to attempt to watch more shows.

Agreed that UPN hasn't had anything else for me to watch.

Hey listen, rather than spending another spring on a Save Enterprise campaign, how about this year we mount a campaign called Kill UPN? We'd better stop them soon, before they "move forward" so far that we science fiction lowbrows can longer comprehend their upscale programming ...

I am confused by the inner workings of Viacom...they own both Paramount who produces Enterprise and UPN which broadcasts it....you think that fact would of helped it stay on the air....weird.

Of course...Viacom also owns CBS....maybe they should have Dr. Phlox just investigate murders onboard and call it CSI : Enterprise :?

Don't be to hard on UPN. Sure "Enterprise" is gone and that sucks now that the show was getting good again. Still, they got "Kevin Hill" and "Veronica Mars" with good scripts and acting. And they give me "Half & Half" where I can ogle Rachel True every week. :D

There is always HOUSE on Fox, and Nip/Tuck on on FX.

I remember watching CNN's live coverage of a boat fire sometime in the late 20th century. The reporter said that they had one of the boaters on the phone, and he asked the boater how the fire started. The guy said that the fire started on the stern... the Howard Stern. BABA BOOIE!!!

Isn't UPN the "network" that brought us Homeboys in Outer Space.

Mr. Sulu, set phasers to chill.

Most illogical, homey.

D@mn, b*tch. I'm a m*th*rf*ck*n doctor, not some g*dd@mn [insert any occupation outside of doctor here]!

FWIW, UPN is still worthwhile for Veronica Mars.

I've always thought of it as "Chloe from Smallville gets a spinoff with Dashiel Hammett as showrunner."

I thought Bakula's Archer lacked the real cajones it takes to captivate an audience and Captain an Enterprise. And the crew didn't help.

The secret of TOS - Interesting People doing interesting things. It starts with the people.

I disagree. I think Bakula did a tremendous job, especially in Season Three. Connor Trinneer as Tucker and John Billingsley as Phlox were also excellent. I do agree that they never really fleshed out the characters of Montgomery, Reed, and Sato. There were many episodes in which they didn't get much more to do than Sulu, Chekov, and Uhura did on the original series.
