The idolized and enigmatic duo are back. After considerable speculation by their rabid fan base (not to mention the media following every step of the way), Boards of Canada have revealed that their new album Tomorrow's Harvest will be released on June 11 via their long time home, Warp Records. Musically, the album is somehow dark yet positive, with atmospheric dissonance and mind-bending melodic creations.

Every album released by these guys is an event for me. Yes! Very excited.

My favorite electronic group and probably in my top 10 "most listened to" groups.

Where would be the best place to start with this band?

Rick,

I honestly think all their albums are equally good, Music has a Right to Children is their first album and although I love it, some of the sounds seem a little less developed than on the albums that followed it. Geogaddi has lots of small vignettes combined with longer pieces and is a great listen all the way through. Campfire Headphase might have the highest highs. Any of those three would be a good place to start.

David

Campfire Headphase is my favorite Boards Of Canada release followed by Music Has The Right To Children. Also love the Trans Canada Highway EP.

Looking forward to the new album.

Well I got "Campfire Headphase " from Amazon today and it's excellent. Slightly more urgent and more "earthly" than "Air" , really enjoying this.

Thanks to Lawrence Talbot and David for this recommendation. And Tricky Kid for the initial post. I will be getting more on this band, that's for sure!

Very cool videos, just order "Tomorrow's Harvest"," Music Has The Right To Children" and the "Trans Canada Highway EP".

I'm playing "Campfire Headphase" every third day. It's that good!

Glad you're enjoying the Boards of Canada, Rick.

I'll have to pre-order the new album soon.
