BIG price drop on this Charly reissue. Is anyone familiar with this? Is it worth bothering with?

Janis Joplin's Psychedelic Legends. 2CD set featuring previouslu unreleased recordings plus unseen video tracks. Big Brother & The Holding Company were leading lights on San Francisco's psychedelic scene in the late 60's, up there with the likes of Jefferson Airplane and The Grateful Dead. The group's brand of blues-inspired psychedelic folk rock epitomised the Bay Area sound of the time. Much of the group's success was down to their charismatic lead singer, Janis Joplin, who was to go on to a highly-successful solo career, cut short by her death in 1970 from a drug overdose. This limited edition CD set comprises audio and audio-visual recordings made by the band at the height of their creativity. The 2CD set features recordings of San Francisco concerts heard here in pristine sound, having being sanctioned and 24-bit re-mastered for this release by the group themselves. The twelve tracks making up disc 1 are all previously unreleased, having only recently been discovered by surviving band members, and were recorded in January 1967 at The Matrix. Those on disc 2 were recorded in July 1966 at California Hall and have previously only been available as poor quality bootlegs. Disc 2 also contains two enhanced videos filmed at the studios of KQED TV in April 1967, just weeks before the group's legendary Monterey Festival appearance, and is also previously-unreleased with excellent sound and picture quality for the era. This release includes notes from two of the original band members as well as additional detailed notes about the group and the actual recordings.

There is a cheaper, US version of the two-disc set called "Lost Tapes", which was released in 2008 (although Amazon says 2010, I know it came out in 2008 because it was discussed here: viewtopic.php?f=17&t=31275&hilit=lost+tapes )

It should be pointed out that the 1966 show has been available under several different titles for many years now--this version is perhaps the most common:

Also, the KQED show was released in a CD/DVD package as "Ball And Chain": http://www.amazon.com/dp/B0029LD2QW/?tag=imwan-20
As for whether I would recommend any of this...I would--the older I get, the more I get a kick out of BBATHC, and there is a "fly on the wall" quality to these live recordings that is, to me, fascinating. But that's probably just me.

Thanks; that's what I was afraid it was.
