"Hey, where's all the guys? Who wants to watch a bunch of chicks gabbing at each other? What is this the Gilmore Girls? Plus, what the hell kind of name is 'Yorrick'?"
everything is better than the Walking Dead. the show may be alright but the comic is absolute crap. Y takes the same sort of concept and does a significantly better job fleshing it out.

I cant put it down and yes that did not happen with Walking Dead, either the comic or series. This would be so much better as a series. And I'm loving the art, like a cleaner Dave Gibbons.

the art is really good. at first I thought it was kinda plain and boring, but the more I read it the more I realized how good Pia Guerra is at showing the character's emotions - barely noticeable facial expressions, gestures, etc. The last trade is a really good example of that....I don't want to give any plot points away, so I won't go into detail.
Brian K Vaughan has a knack for working with ridiculously talented female artists on ridiculously good comics with sci fi/fantasy elements. See also: Saga.

I am usually sensitive whenever I hear political stuff in a comic book, even one line. Still don't like it with the big two superheroes but this is his won book and he can do whatever he wants. Having said that, I'm enjoying how it's all over the place and not really preaching any point of view. It's just character's opinions. Well done.
And I'm picking up Saga next.

Love BKV. Miss Pia Guerra. Some people didn't like the ending of Y, I did. Enjoyed the heck out of the entire thing. Would make a great TV series.
My imaginary Vertigo comic series (ten years or so back) was 'Tales From No Man's Land'. Rotating top talent could tell stories (in various arc lengths) set in the Y world, but completely independent of the main series.
I guess you could call it a controversial ending. I know people that love it and people that hate it. I fall squarely in the "love it" camp, myself. Don't let it turn you off from finishing the series.
